Craze for competition

An interesting news item which appeared in the Nanganallur Talk (15 - 21 January 2012), reads as:

Sandhyavandanam Contest

MB Publishers is conducting sandhyavandanam competition for children of STD III to XII on 20 January at Kalai Arangam, Sundara VinayagarAalayam,
Madippakkam.
The competition is open to all three Vedas and the contestants will be divided into three categories:

Ist Category : From STD III to V (shlokas only)
IInd Category: From Std. VI to VIII (shlokas with respective action)
IIIrd Category: From Std. IX to XII (shlokas with explanation).

If this trend continues, IMO, the day is not far off when there would be competitions in Tharpanam and SrAddham and the winner would be awarded
the title of Astika Siromani, alongwith a cash prize!!!

These are the days of competition, reality shows in tv and what not. So, we need not be surprised until we get reality shows for 'first night'!
