Consent at one time does not guarantee that it is for ever!

Then the concept of CONSENT is purely religious. More divorces indicate people are not serious about religious dictums, especially Abrahamic Religions, since the topic is primarily aimed at them.
 
I am happy to offer some Sanskrit evidence to Renukaji. Here is a classic wedding mantra:

[FONT=q_serif]यदिदं हृदयं मम[/FONT]
[FONT=q_serif]तदस्तु हृदयं तव ‍॥

What is this if it is not consent? It is actually quite similar to Christian wedding vows.
 
On the other hand, the father of the bride performs unilateral kanyadanam. And as a result of doing that clears his path to heaven. Leaving an unmarried daughter behind, guarantees a place in hell, consent or no consent.
