China Sees Fresh Surge Of Coronavirus Cases, 99 New Cases Reported In One Day
There have been 99 new coronavirus cases and 63 fresh asymptomatic infections reported in just one day (Saturday) in China . This sudden surge has raised concerns about a possible second wave of the pandemic in the country.
China's National Health Commission (NHC) has said that 1,280 imported cases of Coronavirus infections were reported as of Saturday. While 481 have been discharged from hospitals there are 36 reportedly in severe conditions and another 799 being treated.
Of the 99 new infection cases reported on Saturday, 97 were of people who had returned from abroad, if Chinese authorities are to be believed.
Of the 63 new asymptomatic cases, only 12 were from abroad. In total 1086 asymptomatic cases, including 332 infections from abroad, are being kept under medical observation.
