Chanting/learning Veda on the day of Shrardam

Is chanting/learning Veda prohibited on the day when Shraddham is performed for the parant. I have noticed that Purusha Suktam is changed when the Brahmanas are fed during the Shraddham ceremony.

During Brhamana bojanam, Abhishravana Mantram is used to be being recited. As apart of the Abhishravana Mantram, Purusha suktam and Narayana Suktam are recited. At the beginning of the bhojanam and at the end of the bhojanam, Anna suktam is recited. The brhamanas are supposed to partake the food silently as representatives of the pitrus, hearing the mantras recited.
