Can we perform Sraddham in some other place , other than our own house

Ideally one should perform Pithru Sraddhams in one's own house. However I would like to elicit the opinion of our elders on whether we can perform Pithru Sradhham in some other house , where all the required facilities ( inlcuding the preparation of the food as per our custom) are made available .

Pithru Sraddhams can be done in mutt or places near to your house where these type of ceremonies are done in Andhima samskirtam done in private owned places.
