Can ayushhomam performed by someone else other than parents

Hi due to the pandemic the father of the baby is stuck abroad, and cannot be present in ayushhomam. Can someone else do the homam(vathiyar) instead of him or should we perform it at the baby's third year

Ayush Homam can be performed every year but due to our mechanised life we are doing in first year only and afterwards 60 80 and so on.

First year may be performed by same கோத்ரம் people like FIL & MIL or married BIL & SIL.

@Lotusinsanskrit thanks for the reply. Unfortunately my mil passed away and my husband is only son and.all his cousins are unmarried. But thanks the vathiyar says he will perform the homam and bless the child

Good you found a solution.
My friend did a Zoom Homam from USA for his son.

As mentioned by Mr.Prasad, good that you found a solution.
But we need to be practical and act according to the situation.
I am saying this because I left my wife and 6 month old daughter in India and was working in Dubai 43 years back. Her ayushhomam was performed on her first birthday in my wife's parents house with my daughter seated on her mother's lap.
