Bypoll results: BJP suffers setback in Rajasthan, loses ground in UP

Talk of divisive policy by bjp is refusal to face ground realities by the psecs and media with neutral claims. Why minority means muslims only when all other communities - sikhs, jains, buddhists and christians seem to be a contended and prosperous lot. Truth must be known and told.

Since by polls cannot lead to change in policies or governance unless stability of the ruling party is affected, they have little relevance in future outcome. Some statistics:

DMK: Won 11/13 by-polls between 2006-2011.
Won 31/234 (-126) seats in 2011 TN Assembly Elections.

BSP: Won 15/18 by-polls from 2007-2012
Won 80/401 (-126) seats in 2012 UP Assembly Election

TDP: Lost 41/41 by-polls between 2009-2014
Won 102/175 seats in Andhra Pradesh Assemble Elections

BJP would realize that only constructive policies of the government will benefit the people and make all of them happy. BJP should not resort to divisive policies if it wants to continue to stay in power. It has to raise its level and stand apart from the other parties for its own good and for the good of the country.

Too much should not be read into by poll results! But if there is any sudden and strong undercurrent that is perceptible or visible now, then BJP should take necessary proactive steps! This exercise has to be done only by BJP. No one else can do that deep dive!

BJP should consider these bypoll results as a blessing in disguise so that they can know what went wrong and can rectify their mistakes for the next elections .

politics and power is a team game. one needs more than a charismatic leader to sustain for long

bjp cannot change its spots. AB Vajpayee ignored the fault lines of the party and survived five years,

RSS was responsible for demise of janata party.

AB Vajpayee smartly brushed RSS aside citing coalition compulsions and completed five years in office

Namo will learn fast and and learn to sideline RSS and rule hopefully hiding behind some excuse

I do not know to what extent he will succeed.

Atalji did not develop the organization at all during is rule...But we have an activist BJP President in Amit Shah who is also an aspiring contender for the PM in the long run...We will see more action from BJP side while NaMo will focus on Governance!

Interesting reporting and non reporting by the media.

1. In gujarat, congress won three seats; other six went to bjp.
2. Congress lost deposit in 11 seats. (not worth reporting or convenient evasion).
3. BJP's maiden victory in bengal
4. BJP's vote share has increased
5. Five or six members of mulayam's close family are in; good news for family control and inheritance

6.
