Brahmin's economic condition

There are one or two ways to improve the economic condition of Brahmins.
1.Create a powerful Votebank. Though we are only two percent of the population, Brahmins should vote only for Brahmins or Brahmin supporters (that is who agrees to our demands)
2.Stay away from politics and involve in business like the old Chettiyars and recent Nadars.help one another in starting business.
3.Create a powerful lobby, like the Jews of the Western countries.

The second option involves lot of unethical and immoral, illegal and unlawful activities. Probably right thinking Brahmins may not prefer it.

I have read the opinions of many of our friends here in this blog. If people think of good solutions, it will be great.

According to Gurumurthy (S. Gurumurthy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia), communities that used caste as a political capital did not progress while those that used caste as a social/economic capital achieved good progress. I think he is mainly referring to the TN scenario. Considering brahmins are a miniscule minority in TN and in few other states, taking the political route would not bear fruitful results.

However this may not be the case in many other states. The bedrock of Indian politics is exclusive priveleges based on caste and religion. Therefore organization of castes along political lines would only increase as the hold of politics over our lives is ever increasing. I had already written how castes classified under general class are aligning themselves. Brahmins will do okay as long as a sizable percentage of population remains under this general class.

Having read all the replies, I am interested in some solutions.
We may consider:
1.Yearly sample survey to find out the economic condition of Brahmins in every district
2. Setting up a Brahmin Bank to help the needy
3. Contributing at least one to five pounds or one to five dollars a month. I will be the first man to donate.
4. Setting up a distribution agency. Being a resident of London for 26 years, I dont know how effective are the existing organisations are. If necessary setting up a new agency/organisation.
5.With groups like tamilbrahmins.com, organisations like *******, Singapore Brahmin association, the work will easier nowadays.
6.THE BIG QUESTION IS: who is to bell the cat? Like Guru Gobindasing, we have to look for five organisers.
