During/Until the last century, key positions were invariably dominated by members of the Brahmin community.

People who coveted positions which require merit, intelligence, efficiency, quality, productivity were brahmins.

Way back in my hometown, where industries were pioneered by 2 major non-brahmin community of the district, although people belonging to their respective communities were employed only on recommendation, critical responsibilities were entrusted mostly with brahmins. Regardless of the caste/community of the founders, the Accounts/Finance departments especially were conquered by brahmins out-powering even the recommendations.

Wherever intelligence, wisdom, knowledge were the only criterion, be it academics or business, brahmins were found dominating the scene.

However the scenario seems different in current times.

Barring the IITs and premier academic institions, brahmin domination seems declining or non-existent.

Especially in the IT industry, everyone regardless of caste/community, enjoy an equal share.

Intelligence, Wisdom, Efficiency etc, apparently no longer is a property of brahmins.

While I am not a brahmin-chauvinist, yet I wonder if the current trend justifies the claims of the south indian rationalists, who contradict the genetic accounting of intelligence, wisdom etc.

Dear Sri Iyer@Infosys,

With all due respect, I know you are not an Iyer. I don't even think you are a Hindu. So, why don't you come clean about your background. We do not mind discussing proper issues raised by non Hindus in this Forum, but we do not need to spend our valuable time responding to folks like you, who hide behind a Brahmin moniker.

If I am wrong, please send me your particulars where we can verify your bonafides. Thanks.

Regards,
KRS
