Black veshti

I recently purchased a kerala style black veshti that I think looks pretty slick. Here's my question though. Can I wear it to the temple? Ive never seen anyone wear a black veshti at the temple so I figured it is best to ask here and be safe rather than sorry!

UPDATE: After speaking to a close friend who is a Śivācārya I found out that this veshti is generally only used during Ayyappa diksha. So it looks like I'll just wear it around the house or during pujas at home.
