Ravana Brahma.jpgToday's news papers carry the obituary reference of great Artist and Film Director Sri Sathiraju Lakshminarayana popularly known as "Bapu" who passed away yesterday (31st August 2014) in Chennai.He was born in a Niyogi Brahmin family at Narsapur, West Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh on 15th December 1933.
He was a versatile Artist who created his own style of Drawings bringing out the mythological figures with few line strokes. Bapu was a well known film director in Telugu cinema. He was an artist, painter, illustrator, cartoonist, and designer, and was awarded the Padma Shri in 2013 for his contribution to Indian art and cinema. This great Artist will be remembered for his drawings of Hindu mythological characters. His pictorial Ramayana for children is popular among the Telugu people.
May his soul rest in peace.
