Bad News For Mamata Government As Calcutta HC Orders Removal Of All State-Sponsored Anti-CAA Ads
The Calcutta High Court on Monday (23 December) ordered the Mamata Banerjee led West Bengal government to remove all state-sponsored advertisements against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and NRC, India Today has reported.
As per the report, the Calcutta HC ordered the government to remove all such advertisements and suspend such an activity till the next hearing on 9 January.
The state’s Governor Jagdeep Dhankar had earlier accused the Mamata led government of wasting taxpayers’ money on the campaign against NRC and CAA which he asserted was unconstitutional.
