dear Mr. Anesan,

The song is simple enough but it has been handed to us in the form of a Jack fruit - which needs a lot of preliminary work before we can enjoy the fruit.

Here is my humble attempt with the first stanza.

If it is O.K. I will go on with the other stanzas.

with best wishes and regards,
Mrs. V.R.

Dear Mr. Ravi pillai,

I found the attachment given by the man was not adequate for the transliteration and the translation.

So I had to dig up the song in English from other sources. But in the mean time, the man who wanted the translation has disappeared without a trace!

Obviously he does not really have any interest in it - except for some personal gains.

I am a Dumbo in such theories but one of my well wishers made me understand that he wanted it so badly to post it as his own work elsewhere.

That is why when he disappeared, I also stopped the work. Surely I will take it up later - since Murugan is my Ishta Deivam.

So It will be continued as and when time permits - may not be on the daily basis as the other threads launched by me.

Thank you for your feedback.
with best wishes and regards,
Mrs. V. R. :pray2:

Dear Guru

I am from South Africa. I look forward to you completing the translation as and when you have the time. Thank you for replying to my post.

With best wishes

Dear Mr. Ravi Pillai,
I am trying to get the poem in Tamil. I lost the link to the poem in English (which I have seen in the net) and tried in vain to recover it.
Either way I will take it up soon. As I have already pointed out, the poem is very simple but the format in which it is given makes my work harder!
I hope I will find it in the book store where I buy my books.
with best wishes and regards,
Mrs. V.R. (why the title guru???) :)

You are born as the son of Siva who swallowed the aalaahala poison. You
drink the divine milk, speak words as sweet as fruits and help your sincere devotees with your infinite grace. The purpose of life is not to forget the panchaaksharam OM NAMA: SIVAAYA.
You came to bless Valli who was filled with sincere love towards you. Please come to me oh lord! mounted on your glorious and victorious peacock.

Dear Mr. Ravi Pillai,
I am sure you do not want the meaning line by line.
So it is given as a paragraph.
I have been trying to get to the poem ever since 22nd October.
But like a Dumbo, I was always trying to Google search with the Tamil name.
Today I did the search with English name and presto I could find it immediately.
I will be posting one para everyday. There are 13 paras in all. So it will go on till 10th November.
Are you  now?
with best wishes,
Mrs. V. R. :)

Madam,
I have a few doubts on this prayer. Avinaasi in sanskrit means no vinaasam,
azhivillathathu. But here I see the word avanaasi.

Second point is that the title says paththu, which means ten. There must
be ten verses only or eleven with kaappu to lord Ganapathi. Here there
are thirteen excluding kaappu. Why ?

Worth thinking further about this.

I intend to and hope to finish this series by 10th November, 2011. Nice number ! 10-11-2011
As for Mayilai Mannaar, I cannot comment. My guess is that he is busy in the Forum in another name.
If you use your imagination you can easily find out who he could be! :)

Madam,

Like mylai mannar. His kandar anubhuti is really good but he has not finished it.
I am able to read new meanings for the stanzas.

Please remember to share with me the results of your investigations.
Even in the Tamil dictionary the name of the place is given as AVINAASI.
Since the number 13 is inauspicious, the author must have rounded it off to the nearest ten(s).

Oh Lord who is holding the mighty Shakthi ayudham in your strong hand!
Is it my ill fate that I should seek the help of those wretches - who see something and go about saying something else?
You are the befitting Lord of both the lovely Valli and the stately Deivayaanai!
It is time for you to utter the words "Well! here I come" and come to me sitting on your lovely peacock.
