This historic decision of the Govt. of India may cause some temporary inconvience to the general public, but we as a responsible citizen should bear in mind that this short-lived inconvenience is a price which is worth paying for long term benefits of the nation in curbing black money.

Let us all expres our solidairty and support by trying to be a part of this financial revolution.

Let us join in and give it speed.

Dear TVK Sir,

We are NOT beggars because what we exchange or take from the bank is OUR own money!! :thumb:

We are converting our own money for the sake of our future generation! The demonetisation in fact is going to strengthen our own rupee! So there is no question of us being called as beggars! We do not mind standing in ration shops, to take flood /drought relief..But we will curse if we have to safeguard our onw money? What a travesty!!

Human behavior is strange. We are ready to suffer ignominy of standing in long queue in sun and rain to get visas stamped or a minute dharshan in far of holy places, but grumble for the inconvenience caused while cleansing the system of ill gotten wealth.
I could understand the
Politicians crying hoarse for reasons better known to them, but wonder why honest money earners should cry for temporary inconvenience to suffer for a right cause !

The intent of the OP is well taken. Corporates are the biggest fraudsters when it comes to double dealing and tax evasion. It seems that they are let loosely while the average guy is taken for a tough ride.

We have to wait and watch if the govt does anything on the black money stored outside india.

.

As long as Political Parties get funding from Big Corporate and Businessmen such actions will be only superficial and not very serious .

An auto driver asked me yesterday whether I need his help to exchange a few thousands (for a certain commission, of course)!

He said one of his customers is working in a bank; they will share the commission amount and help people who need valid currency!!

How are we going to eradicate black money?? :noidea:

The rich are giving 3-4 months advance salaries to their servants ..They are also giving short term loans...So these servants stand in queues to convert the money..Smart indeed are the moves of the rich!

Sharing of a Face Book message....

New currency and the Common man

Many people say that this move by Modi government is affecting the common man more than the one who has hoarded black money.

They say, this should have been done without affecting the common man.

But the common man is part of the system that created black money.

1. Common man is the one who goes and gets his groceries from a retail shop for cheaper price, knowing that the retail shop hardly pays any tax at all.

2. Common man is the one who prepares fake rental agreements and shows it as proof for HRA.

3. Common man is the one who pays bribe (through black money) to a government official, just to make out work easier.

4. Common man is the one who accepted Rs. 500/1000 (Black money) from both political parties that are contesting elections.

5. Common man is the one who purchases a product without bill, to save money (thereby creating black money)

6. Common man is the one gives maamool (black money) to the police for keeping their illegal shops

7. Common man is the one who offers bribe (black money) to the police for drunk and drive, not wearing a helmet, etc. instead of paying heavy fines at the
court. Same way police collects cash "Hafta" from all hawkers traders etc. Municipal staff, rail staff and many others collect bribes all cash.

8. Common man is the one who saves money little by little and purchases property and registers for under market value to save money (thereby creating black money)

9. Common man is the one who gives donation (Black money) to a private school who won't give a bill

10. Common man is the one who doesn't even understand that he is entitled to far more privileges than he/she is currently receiving, which is drastically reduced to corruption/black money

11. Common man is the one who complains about the corrupt system but doesn't take any steps to correct the system, but instead keeps on playing the blame game.

12. Common man is the one who is complaining now that this Bold step is causing inconvenience to them.

13. Common man is the one who justifies all these acts saying politicians are corrupt, so we can be corrupt too.

So I am asking how can one cleanup a system that you and me (Common Man) are an integral part of?

So to the common man of India, my message is "Bear the pain now and reap the gain in the future!"

The OP reveals a mindset.

My friend, who is an executive in a conglomerate keeps a pin up in his desk. It reads" If you are so cut up with my advice pulling you up, please try and grow up to occupy this chair or get a better job for your wife".

Ratan Tata, or Kumaramangalam Birla or Nusli wadia or Mukesh ambani will n ot stand in the queue for exchanging their 500 or 1000 demonetised notes. They will employ some one to do that.

Those who have not achieved anything in life and standing fretting and fuming at all the rich people of this country will end up wasting all their energies in fretting and fuming only. They do not know what it is like there at that Corner room in Nariman Point or what is the stress the man at the top goes through.

Ennui thy name is God because you are all pervading and all consuming. LOL.

All of us are seeing only one side of the coin. Withdrawal of currency is not aimed only at eradication of black wealth. It has a greater vision of eradicating counterfeit currency as well. According to an estimate a whopping 70℅ cash being in operation in Punjab,J&K,West Bengal and in certain north East states are counterfeit. This act has certainly broken their back bone. Has anyone noticed the fact that peace started returning to Kashmir? Biggest change noticed is the offer of talks without any condition with our government by types of Gilani who only believed in talks with Pakistan till 8th November. The entire terrorist activities were run with counterfeit currencies which has taken a hard hit by this act of our government. Other main route of counterfeit to our country was Bengal border which also come to a halt now.

While I agree with your reasoning, I can well assure you that the naysayers of this Forum will not agree.

One member comes here to say that the crime rate will increase and the other comes here to vouch obsequiously ‘Yes Sir, Yes Sir three bags full’. There is no reasoning and there is no point to substantiate their stand.

Some of them don't seem to go through the postings and write ups on the subject.

This act of some, just reminds me of the parable five blinds defining an elephant.

When there was a thread about action taken to reveal the names of Accounts holders in Swiss Bank, some of the members were arguing about eradicating Black Money at domestic level.

Now, when some strict measures are initiated by the Govt at the Center to curb Black Money at domestic level, they will point out curbing Black Money at diplomatic level.

For your information, I have a news Item to share which reports that the money owned by Indians in Swiss Banks drops to record low of Rs.8392 crores and this drop in numbers is significant as the Narendra Modi Government has stepped up efforts both at the domestic and diplomatic level.

Here is the link: http://indianexpress.com/article/bu...s-banks-drops-to-record-low-of-rs-8392-crore/

I can only say 'Rome was not built in a day'. It all needs time to clean up the mess....

India is not being developed by any of the govts . It grows because of others finding ways and means to become productive and generatre wealth. Govt has more or less

become only a regulatory agency and nothing more. For that why it should mop up money by draconian rules to collect money and spend it on paying third class

bureaucracy and fool hardy schemes where only corruption pervades. At least in communist countries govt takes responsibility for food, water ,shelter ,clothes for all at

the cost of freedom.I firmly believe govt should withdraw more to a minimal amount for defence, communication or external affairs and let economy loose to perform.

All this mop up is only hawa baazi. Less than 30% will go to banks. Balance will change from paper money into bullion and farm sector which is a holy cow untaxed and

unaccounted. We will have spurious increase in grain production with higher agricultural outputs on paper adding to GDP. Those who have domestics and labourers working

for them will use them to continue to stand in queue for their masters and get conversion to extent possible. Jandhan accounts will overflow with money given by

benefactors.Last time I went to bank for exchange my small money one illiterate came with three kids to stuff 50K into their accounts. The poorest of the poor only stand

in serpentine queues. It is great thinking poorly executed . At govt has got its hands to recapitalise banks. But only the retension wqill not be a fraction of it as as much

of it may flow out later

[h=2]People who sleep like Kumbakarnan should at least wake up now and come to the reality world and see what is happening around them.[/h]

And it is necessary to think twice before clicking the enter 'button'.
[h=2]It is the elected Governments at the center plan and implement lot of poverty alleviation programmes.[/h]

These are all few programmes
[h=2]1) Wage employment programmes,[/h][h=2]2) Self-employment programmes, 3) Food security programmes,[/h][h=2]4) Social security programmes and[/h][h=2]5) Urban poverty alleviation programmes.[/h]

These are all few schemes
[h=2]National Old Age Pension Scheme (NOAPS)[edit][/h][h=2]National family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)[/h][h=2]National Maternity Benefit Scheme[/h][h=2]Annapurna[/h][h=2]Integrated Rural Development Program(IRDP)[/h][h=2]Rural Housing-Indira awaas Yojana (IAY)(initiated in 1985)[/h][h=2]National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA)[/h]
Namami Gange Programme

Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana

Swabhima

Antyodaya Anna Yojna

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana

And the successful implementation of these programmers and schemes depends on the active involvement of four pillars of democracy.

Whether all the Schemes have delivered the desired result is debatable as there is frequent change of Government and political parties.

A responsible citizen needs to be optimistic and try to co-operate when they experience hardships.

It is nothing but reciprocation.

When something is offered as a freebie, everyone don’t mind in standing at serpentine queue and they don’t come here to grumble and are silent obviously.

And why now hue and cry….??

Who brought high cost economy into the country?

Govt decontrolled madly in nineties and opened the economy wide and threw the poor to the high cost lions.

All theories of trickle down theory have proved to be false promises.

Announcing sops to poor thru various schemes is only an effort to say we are fair to the poor. The ruling class wants the poor to be at the mercy or rulers to make them

permanently dependant on them for doles and become vote banks. All the freebies like mobiles, laptops and I do not know what all are gimmicks for vote capture.

Unless politics, real estate and construction business is directly cleaned by direct action by govt , there is no hope.

From locating ATMs to filling forms, good samaritans are helping during demonetisation

Volunteers%20demonetisation%20Twitter_2.jpg

Across the country, there are volunteers who have come forward to make the situation better.

Seeing long queues outside banks and ATMs following the demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes has become commonplace since November 8. And if standing in long queues outside banks and ATMs wasn't frustrating enough, imagine being told that they have run out of currency notes just as you are about to reach your turn.

But some people are looking to make the wait for cash a little easier - whether it means giving out pizzas, water and tea or letting them know where they can find operational ATMs with the shortest queues.

Mapshalli
, an initiative by Bengaluru-based Shiv Shankar was originally started in September to help residents see if their houses were constructed on storm water drains (by overlaying BBMP maps on Google Maps). Now, Mapshalli is crowd-sourcing information to identify ATMs which are dispensing cash and the length of the queues too.

Operational since Sunday, Shiv says nearly 300 ATMs marked on Mapshalli now cover a 50 kilometre area in and around Mahadevpura, but can continue to grow as and when people check in to identify the ATM.
