Excerpts..
……………..
[h=2]Brutal ruler[/h]Alauddin Khilji is known as one of the most brutal rulers of the Khilji dynasty, who ascended the throne by killing his father-in-law, his brother-in-laws and their uncles. He was known for attacking states, only for their land and women. And, the motive behind the attack on Mewar was none other than royal Rani Padmavati.

Scientists prove it really is a thin line between love and hate

The same brain circuitry is involved in both extreme emotions – but hate retains a semblance of rationality

This may seem surprising since hate can also be an all-consuming passion like love. But whereas in romantic love, the lover is often less critical and judgemental regarding the loved person, it is more likely that in the context of hate the hater may want to exercise judgement in calculating moves to harm, injure or otherwise exact revenge," Professor Zeki said.

Unfortunately, some people see everything only narrowly through the religious glasses.

We in India Ashoka was the greatest Hindu ruler.

Before he was the benevolent King. Ashoka was the malevolent King of India. He was so cruel that he was also given the name of “Chanda Asoka” (Heartless Ashoka/Cruel Ashoka/Merciless Ashoka). And how he got that name? Here it goes:
 • According to some sources he killed his 99 brothers (except one) to attain his throne. However, this account is said to be exaggerated. In other sources it is mentioned he killed at least six of his brothers for the throne, including the cown prince Sushima.
 • In Kalinga war, around 100,000 people were killed in the battle. And even more due to hunger and disease. Further, 150,000 were taken as captives.
 • Ashoka’s Hell: A torture chamber built by Ashoka disguised as a beautiful palace full of amenities such as exclusive baths and decorated with flowers, fruit trees and ornaments. It was built by King Ashoka(304–232 BCE) in Pataliputra (modern Patna, India), the capital city of the Maurya Empire. The legend of the torture palace is detailed in the Ashokavadana, the text that describes King Ashoka's life through both legendary and historical accounts.
There is so much more with relation to conspiracies on his change of heart just being a political gimmick, he ordering a religious genocide of Jains and Ajivikas.

Mihirakula, was one of the most important rulers of the Alchon Huns, who led a conquest and gained temporary control of Gandhara, Kashmir, northern and central India. Mihirakula was a son of Toramana, both of Huna heritage and ruled the Indian part of the Hephthalite Empire. Mihirakula ruled his empire from 502 to 530.
According to Buddhist texts, the Huna king Mihirakula was extremely cruel and barbaric.[SUP][3][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][4][/SUP] He destroyed Buddhist sites, ruined monasteries, killed monks. Yashodharman and Gupta Empire rulers, in and after about 532 CE, reversed Mihirakula's campaign and ended the Mihirakula era.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mihirakula

He belonged to the Hunnic tribal group. Infamous for their plundering, murderous ways. Even the Dothrakhi would look at them and go, dude, not cool.
The son of Toramana, another ‘white hun’ or Sweta Huna, he was a follower of Shiva who engaged in genocideand cultural extermination directed against Buddhists, destroying many viharas, slaughtering monks and innumerable common folk. The beginning of the decline of Buddism in India is said to have begun through him. He is also said to have exhibited treachery, on being driven out of the Indian plains and into Kashmir by a joint campaign headed by the Guptas, Mihirakula is said to have been granted asylumby alocal ruler— whom he promptly repaid with intrigue and murder, before doing humanity a favor by dying of disease himself.
Buddhist chronicles record him to have been extremely cruel and uncouth, in addition to having sadistic tendencies, death by torture was a common fate for his prisoners.

He burnt, looted and killed mercilessly people of India and particularly Buddhists. Historians have compared him to Attila the Hun of Roman times in cruelty.

Numerous small HINDU kingdoms were fighting among them for petty reasons. Lakhs of lakhs brave fighters died for no cause. A dream of Chanakya was lost for another 1400 years. Imagine, who knows about Kannoj, at one point of time say for 400 years, different Kingdoms were fighting for supremacy of it. Such was the stupidity and idoecracy of those foolish brave people. In that process India had lost terribly and had weakened to an extent that foreign Islamic aggressors descended on India.. India become a looting ground for another 800 years.

India, the land of brave fighters become the land of subdued slaves, where very few were fighting for Independence, rest were either watching or worse giving

One thing you need to understand that religion has nothing to do with cruelty of rulers. Now lets start with cruel Hindu kings:
1) Racha Vema Reddy . The last king of Reddy Kingdom. He is so cruel that he was killed by his own subject. One instance of his cruelty is one where he skinned an alive person to write his dictate.

2) Magha of Kalinga. Also known as Magha the tyrant. Founder of Jaffna kingdom. Known for his religious fanaticsm and hatred for Buddhism.

Unfortunately, some misguided people only see Religion, they do nor see Human beings.

Pushyamithra Sunga
The Brahmin King, who usurped the throne from the Mauryan Ruler exhibited the characteristics of a fanatic by following a cruel policy of exterminating the Buddhist Monks and destroying the Structures
“….slaughtered monks and the organization's residence; after which he proceeded to Shakala (Sialkot) where he issued an edict awarding a gold piece for every head of a Buddhist monk brought to him. These accounts state the destruction continued until he arrived at the Bodhi tree.According to other accounts, Pushyamitra Shunga proceeded to Shakala and offered 100 Dinaras for the head of every Buddhist monk.

One of the least famous among the list, Raghoji was the leader of Marathas from 1740s to 1753. This man is quite unique among the list .
Marathas under Raghoji, launched continuous campaigns into Eastern India with the sole purpose of plunder and pillage of the towns and villages. In 10 years, apart from causing a huge property loss, thousands of ordinary village and town folks were killed nonchalantly. Raghoji was a typical Opportunist as ruthless and he saw in the troubles of other states an opening for his own ambition, and did not even require a pretext for plunder and invasion. Twice his armies invaded Bengal, and he obtained the cession of Cuttack. Chanda, Chhattisgarh, and Sambalpur were added to his dominions between 1745 and 1755,

IT should be made clear that ‘Killing’ in warfare essentially doesn’t point the cruelty of the Individual. In that case, every single monarch in history can be called a maniac or cruel.
Hence, only the Emperors who were recorded to commit atrocities like killing non-combatants during the Peace periods or Non-War times shall be considered.

So let us drop this pretext that only Muslim were cruel, the list of cruel Hindu kings is long.

When we mine history we can understand most religions were not peaceful and was suppressive

Fortunately we have some members who call a spade a spade.

And they are aware of the presence of narrow thinking minds who come here to blindly glorify a ruler overlooking his evil side.

Some who think right don’t want to glorify a ruler who has a darker side.

Who is reported to be a ferocious war monger

Who is reported to be a bisexual and a paedophile

Who has a harem with 70,000 men, women and children

And who reportedly killed Hindus brutally

Writing more about this brutal ruler is a mere waste of time

We got a lot of dishes!

Mughal food from Mughals.

Arab and persian influence shaped even music and India got Hindustani music.

Urdu came into existence which led to poetical expression in Bollywood songs.

Then Sweets like Halwa..Jalebi..etc..

Minakaari jewelry design.

Are these being followed by each and every Indian as compared to British? Actually, the role of British in shaping India was far greater than Mughals. In fact, Mughal period was dark chapter in Indian history.

Abey...only Muslim shops are closed.
Everything else is open.

Chinese restaurants..Indian restaurants..KFC..Mc Donalds.
Pizza hut..Dominos etc.

The Muslim staff there still cook and serve non muslims.

But Muslim own shops are closed.

One state in East coast Msia is ruled by an Islamic state goverment...there rules might differ cos that state has very few non muslims but still non muslim shops are open.

Ok..before you go invading into news about Msia let me supply you with info that one school had a problem during Ramadhan where some students were asked to.eat in make shift canteen near a bathroom..that case was resolved amicably and settled.

Is Kurta and Pants traditional Tamil attire?

Depends on the time period.

Sangam Tamil literature sings about the reed skirts of Tamil women. The skirts were made up of dried grasses or reeds.

While I was reading a book on the customs during the age of the Brahmanas (part of Vedic literature), I read another interesting fact. Brahmin priests were wearing reed skirts made up of certain types of grass for the Yagas (fire ceremonies). The Priest-King of Indus valley civilization wears an embroidered shawl. Incidentally Brahmana scriptures mention embroidered woollen cloths. Tamils also wore dress with flower designs on it, says 2000 year old Purananuru (274).

Silappadikaram is the most popular Tamil epic that sings the glory of ancient Tamil kingdoms. Adiarkku Nallar, one of the commentators, gives 36 types of Tamil clothes. Their names include clothing imported from Malaysia, Burma, Orissa and Gujarat ( all the 36 types are given in my Tamil version of this article).

One great thing about the Tamils was that they produced cloths looking exactly like a snake skin. Ancient Egypt was believed to have imported all the clothes for the mummies from Tamil Nadu. When we look at the Tamil name of the Egyptian God of weaving ‘Neith’, we have to accept the fact that Tamils were the main source of clothes for Egyptian Pyramids.
