Hi,
Name of the Saint: vadiraja swamigal
Name of the Location: Sonda

In the year 1480 A.D Shri Vadiraja Theertha was born and he was also the first ascetic who after a long life of 120 years, decided to take samadhi.
Shri Vadiraja entered the Brundavan alive, meditating on this holy day in the year 1600 A.D, and the upper stone was covered as per his instructions once the japamani stopped moving.
(only other SAINT being Sri Raghavendra Swamy)
One greatness to be worth mentioning is, The swamigal is a Lord Hayagreeva upasagar, Every day ritual was he used to keep a basket filled with food on his head, and a The Lord hayagreeva would come as a horse and place the front legs on his back and have the food.

This place is found in karnataka, near to haveri or near to hubli

Other Information: For those who wish to do sevas, You cannot find any kind of hotels or lodges, around the place, everything is managed by the trust. Hence book your room in advance(Rupees 250/- for two persons. No bed will be found in the rooms and also no plug point to cellphone charger inside the room, )
Else free hall will be provided with locker charges of rs.10/-. There won't be long queue of shops, hence no commercialization. Bathroom and other facilities are very good and for free. Morning, afternoon, evening Food is proivded by the Trust, Hence no problem for food.
Temple opens at 5.am, Hence be at the temple pond at 4.30, take bath, and completely wring and remove the water from your clothes, especially women. If you do not want to do parikrama inside the temple, then no problem, else you clothes should not drip, else the priest will scold. He looks at the aacharam very instinctly, While doing parikrama inside the temple, need to do it along with Bootharaja deity also.
(The samadhi will be inside sort of a hall, There won't be any walls, instead iron grills will be found and one can view the samadhi from outside.)
Water in the temple pond is very good, no need for any soap.(please don't use it, if you are found, will be scolded).
Evening at 5 there is bootharaja pooja, not to miss it.
ALso do not miss the tapovanam, where Saint vadiraja swamigal did penance and the grinding stone used by him can be found.

If you are going from chennai or bangalore, take lots of thulasi and roses, if you know to make a garland, then don't miss that opportunity, else market will be found in sirsi or in haveri only.

Travel Information:
For chennai people

There is a train from katpadi to haveri
From haveri you have to arrive at sirsi, which is around 90 kilometers, cost of bus ticket is rs.66/-
From sirsi take a direct bus to sonda which is 22kms, Last bus is by 8pm.
If you miss that one, there are government buses to sonda bye pass, From there you have to take two wheeler for rent. cost rs.70/-
Or from sirsi to sonda by auto cost rs.50/- per person.(9591454887 viju)

For coimbatre or tirunelveli people, direct train from tirunelveli or from erode is available which reaches haveri railway station.

Alternate route:
Go to bangalore, from bangalore there are direct trains to HAVERI.
Only private buses are available for sonda, direct to the temple,

Sugama, VRL Logistics, Sea Bird travelers run daily buses to Sonda from Bangalore. You need to book in advance though. The buses reach Sonda around 7:30AM and leaves around 8:30PM. The departure time is not set. The buses wait till the Bhoota Raja Bali and dinner is complete. KSRTC buses are available from Sirsi to Bangalore, Mysore and Hubli.

There are buses to Sirsi every two hours. In between, there are private shared Cabs running between Sirsi and Sonda. The last bus to Sirsi is at 5:15PM so one needs to plan well if returning from Sirsi.

Driving directions from Bangalore : Bangalore – Tumkur – Chitradurga – Haveri – Sirsi. From Sirsi, take the Yellapur highway and you will find signboards pointing towards Sode
