60th Birthday at Tirukadaiyur

I saw some discussion on the subject some pro and some otherwise. Pls. enlighten if its right to perform Santhi homam at the temple for 60th star birthday if the person does not want to make it a grand function inviting family members and conduct in a big way, but with a simple pooja at Tirukadayur and also archana at the adimai kavu in Kerala?

Secondly, after the rituals can he go to Pushkar or Allahabad / Ayodhya etc. for a vacation cum temple visit and take bath there? Can he go to Varanasi also after that.

Elders please advise.

he may do with one sastrigal in his house kooshmaanda homam, Ayushya homam without calling anybody. This will have more powerful one.than doing archana. He can go to allahabasd, kasi and gaya after this function.

Thanks for your msg. We cannot perform homam at home. Also this year we are mourning due to a death in periappa's house in Feb last. So thought will do the santhi homam in place of shashtiabdapoorthy or similar to that in Tirukadayur which is normally very good to perform. But the adimakavu is in Kerala, can a Ayushomam pooja be conducted informing the priest there on the same day? After doing this, can he go to Varanasi? I hv heard after conducting wedding etc., one should not go to Varanasi as visiting Varanasi is mainly for the rituals right?????? Similarly after doing a good and auspicious function can he visit there??????

AS you are mourning due to death in periappa house till next year february you should not go to varanasi. You can conduct simple type Ayush homam pooja in kerala temple on that birth day. Also you may celebrate 61st star birth day next year. After having finished kashi tour in march 2013.

Thanks for your advice. We will skip Kasi this year and celebrate next year after visiting Kasi. This year we will do the Santhi homam / Ayush homam pooja on his 60th star birthday and do some annadanam also.
