Naalayira Divya Prabandham is actually 3893 and 108 of ramanuja nootranthathi is added to make it 4000. It is clear from the prabandham itself that the last alwar was in the period of Lord Krishna where many divya desams are of Krishna's. Also it is told that Lord Ranga appeared and told to include the Ramanuja Nootranthathi in the prabandham in order to give ramanuja the status of divine being than a human form. From then prabandham is recited with 4000 verses.
