100 சதவீத தேர்ச்சிக்காக 9-ம் வகுப்பு மாணவர்களை வெளியேற்றியது அம்பலம்: தனியார் பள்ளிகளுக்கு கடும் எச்சரிக்கை: நாளை அறிக்கை தாக்கல்

காஞ்சிபுரம், செங்கல்பட்டு கல்வி மாவட்டத்துக்குட்பட்ட அரசு உதவி பெறும் இரு தனியார் பள்ளிகள், பத்தாம் வகுப்பு பொதுத்தேர்வில் 100 சதவீத தேர்ச்சி காட்டுவதற்காக 9-ம் வகுப்பில் குறைந்த மதிப் பெண்கள் பெற்ற மாணவர்களை வெளியேற்றியது தெரிய வந்துள் ளது.

செங்கல்பட்டு கல்வி மாவட்டத் தில் உள்ள அரசு நிதியுதவி பெறும் தனியார் பள்ளிகள் 10-ம் வகுப்பு பொதுத் தேர்வில் 100 சதவீத தேர்ச்சி காட்டுவதற்காக 9-ம் வகுப்பில் குறைந்த மதிப்பெண் பெற்ற மாண வர்களை வலுகட்டயமாக பள்ளியி லிருந்து வெளியேற்றி வருவதாக குற்றச்சாட்டு எழுந்தது. இதுகுறித்து செங்கல்பட்டு பகுதியைச் சேர்ந்த பெற்றோர்கள் மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் சண்முகத்திடம் புகார் அளித்தனர்.

இதை தொடர்ந்து காஞ்சிபுரம் வருவாய் மாவட்டத்தில், அரசு நிதியுதவியுடன் செயல்படும் தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் ஆய்வு நடத்த மாவட்ட முதன்மை கல்வி அலுவலருக்கு மாவட்ட ஆட்சியர் உத்தரவிட்டார். இதன்படி, பள்ளி வாரியாக கணக்கெடுக்கும் பணியில் கல்வித்துறை அதிகாரிகள் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

இதில், செங்கல்பட்டு கல்வி மாவட்டத்தில் அனைத்து விதமான தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் மட்டும் 9-ம் வகுப்பைச் சேர்ந்த 56 மாணவர்கள் பல்வேறு காரணங்களுக்காக பெற் றோர்களின் விருப்பத்தின் பேரி லேயே மாணவர்களை வெளி யேற்றியிருப்பது தெரியவந்துள்ள தாக, கல்வித்துறை வட்டாரங்கள் தெரிவித்துள்ளன.

Technology may have advanced, but Balasubramanian still finds shorthand and typewriting relevant

At a time when technology has taken over our lives, N.R. Balasubramanian still has a lot of faith in stenography, typewriting and shorthand. He says they can be useful for those who wish to have an edge over others. His institute in Ambattur – Sri Mathurambika Supreme Shorthand Centre — has more than 50 students taking lessons in these skills.

A former senior private secretary at Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), he has been teaching shorthand and typewriting since 1988. “I started teaching as a hobby. Then in 1992, I started conducting proper classes. My wife, Ponnammal, was taking care of the entire operations and I would chip in regularly. However, being a government employee, I needed permission to conduct classes like these. Only after getting the permission did I started teaching. After retiring in 2005, I started teaching full-time,” says 71-year-old Balasubramanian, who is extremely passionate about the skills. “I learnt shorthand in 1962 in Kumbhakonnam and it helped me clear tough examinations.”
Ask him about the relevance of shorthand and typewriting today, when everything is just a click away, he says, “My granddaughter plays on her iPad, but I am still giving her training in typewriting. For those who know typewriting, using any kind of keyboard becomes easy and they type faster as well. In the case of shorthand, it can help you take notes even without looking at the notebook and produce it verbatim.”
Balasubramanian also takes Hindi classes (spoken and written) and Sanskrit. Sri Mathurambika Supreme Shorthand Centre is located at Vijayalakshmipuram, Ambattur. For details, call 26573830.

Now a days 6th Standard Passed Students are also eligible to learn typewriting and appear for Govt. Examination, which is known as Pre-Junior Grade. Eighth Standard Students can directly appear for Junior and on passing can proceed to Senior Grade in the respective subjects. Besides, of late, all the institutes are coaching students during Summer Holidays particularly on the basic key board operation, enabling the children to become conversant with the key board. Above all, it facilitates easy operation of the Computer Keyboard much faster without looking at the keyboard, as a blind system, with a view to producing the matter with accuracy maintaining good speed.
