75. அலையற்ற மனம்

உள்நிறைவே ஆக்கத்தின் உன்னதம் என்பது
உள்ளம் உயர்ந்தோரின் நட்பு பெரும்பேறு
உள்ளுதல் ஞான உயர்வு - அலையற்ற
உள்ளம் சுகத்தின் முகடு.

सन्तॊषः परमॊ लाभः सत्सङ्गः परमा गतिः ।
विचारः परमं ञानं शमॊ हि परमं सुखम् ॥

santOShaH paramO lAbhaH satsa~ggaH paramA gatiH |
vichAraH paramaM ~jAnaM shamO hi paramaM sukham ||

Contentment is the highest accrual;
company of the wise is the best attainment;
Reflection is the paramount form of knowledge;
quietude of mind is the zenith of happiness.

76. நான்கு துணைகள்

கல்வியே கூடவரும் செல்லும் பயணத்தில்
இல்லாள் துணையாவாள் இல்லத்தில் - அல்லல்
தருநோய்த் துணையாம் மருந்துகள் - செய்த
தருமம் மரணத் துணை.

विद्या मित्रं प्रवासेषु भार्या मित्रं गृहेषु च ।
व्याधितस्यौषधं मित्रं धर्मॊ मित्रं मृतस्य च ॥
--चाणक्य नीति

Knowledge is the companion of a person on journey; wife is the companion at home;
Medicine is the friend of the sick; merits earned by dharmic actions are the friend of the dead.

கற்றாரை இன்புறுத்தல் இன்னும் எளிதாம்
அரைகுறைக் கல்விச் செருக்கன் மகிழ்ச்சி
பிரம்மனுக்கும் ஆகாச் செயல்.

போதுமான அளவு ஸமஸ்கிருதப் பரிச்சயம் இல்லாததால் இதுபோன்ற பொருட்குற்றங்கள் (சொற்குற்றங்களும் கூட) மற்ற வெண்பாக்களிலும் இருப்பது நிச்சயம். உங்களைப் போன்று அதிக ஸமஸ்கிருத ஞானம் உள்ளவர்கள் மற்ற வெண்பாக்களையும் சரிபார்க்க வேண்டுகிறேன். நூறு வெண்பாக்களை முடிக்கக் காத்திருக்கிறேன். பின்னர் சில எதுகை-மோனை உத்திகளைச் சரிசெய்து ஒரு pdf மின்னூலாக்குவது என் இலக்கு. அதன்பின் உங்கள் பரிந்துரையின் சாத்தியத்தைப் பார்க்கிறேன்.

Even though Sanskrit Dictionary for Spoken Sanskrit gives a meaning in English (I am not proficient enough in Tamil to get a correct word -) I am not completely sure whether இன்புறுத்தல் is an apt word here.

77. முகவுரையும் அறிவுரையும்

இன்முகம் காட்டி இனியதே பேசுவோர்
என்றுமே காணலாம் மன்னவா - நன்மையே
வேட்டுச் செவிக்கின்னா கூறுவோன் கூறுவது
கேட்போனைக் காணல் அரிது.
--வால்மீகி ராமாயணம் 3.37.2.

सुलभाः पुरुषा राजन्, सततं प्रियवादिनः ।
अप्रियस्य तु पथ्यस्य, वक्ता श्रोता च दुर्लभः ॥
--वाल्मीकि रामायणम् 3.37.2.

sulabhAH puruShA rAjan, satataM priyavAdinaH |
apriyasya tu pathyasya, vaktA shrotA cha durlabhaH ||
--vAlmIki rAmAyaNam 3.37.2.

It is easy to find people, O King, who always speak pleasantly.
Those who speak unpleasant things that are recuperative and those who listen to it are hard to find.

This verse is also seen in the mahAbhArata, AshramavAsika parva, as uttered by the minister Vidura to King DhRutarAShtra.

78. நிலாமகன்

தகவிலும் பண்பிலும் தேர்ந்தவன் ஒன்றே
மகவெனினும் மூடர்கள் நூறினும் நன்றே.
இருளை யகற்றும் ஒருநிலவே யன்றித்
திரளும்விண் மீன்குழுக்க ளன்று.

वरमेको गुणी पुत्रो न च मूर्खशतैरपि ।
एकश्चन्द्रस्तमो हन्ति न च तारागणैरपि ॥

varameko guNI putro na cha mUrkhashatairapi |
ekashchandrastamo hanti na cha tArAgaNairapi ||

One wise son is worthy than a hundred stupid ones;
A single moon destroys the darkness, not a cluster of stars.

again occurs in vAlmiki rAmAyana yuddha kAnda (chapter 6) Sarga 16 verse 21 ! ( There seems to be a duplication in vAlmiki rAmayana too - at least it appears)
