Former IAS officer P. Sivakami’s petition in the Madras High Court seeking the removal from government records of terms such as colony, seri and kuppam, which are used to identify Scheduled Caste habitations, has brought into focus the change that these words have undergone over the years in their functional meaning.

We originally come from village ஆலஞ்சேரி near சீர்காழி & I have a flat in DLF Garden city in செம்மாஞ்சேரி

Certain words functionally become derogatory The word kaffir is one such word and Gandhis Statue in Ghana University is to be removed or relocated since he has used this word for native Africans and brnaded as racist!!

I know a few ladie named பாப்பாத்தி among non barhmins - My maama and his familie members had lots of health problems - பிரஷ்ணம் பாத்தா and were advised to install ஆஞ்சனேயர் in the temple in the village பாப்பான் குளம் near Ambasamudram! Should we demand these names to be changed on the perception பாப்பான் is derogatory?
