There are some cheap cabs in Boston and one mAmA who can't drive any more, takes the cab to roam around.
in USA...even we can survive without food...but we can't survive without driving in the long run.....even if we want buy
milk/match box....we need car...not like chennai...every street corner a VETTILAI KADAI is visible in chennai....

Well let us not abuse the NRIs but at the same time the NRIs must also reflect upon situation back at home and adopt changes accordingly so that family and cultural bonds are nourshihed as best as we can . In the end a scattered family with no cultural bonds will only create dysfuncational behavior patterns in the next generation Children and they will have a tough time handling the same . I do not mean to say that all NRIs have to return but they need to keep nurturing the family and cultural bonds as best as they can . BTW even in India many people are cut off from the family and culture and they too will suffer the same problem if they do not nourish the family and cultural bonds .
What is mentioned above is the bare truth . we are aware that that this trend is in vogue & will, continue to become worse & we can only witnesses & would be helpless , to even feel our inability to minimise the impact even within our Home,, let alone friends & relatives.I firmly believe in Kaliyuga , which has passed a mere 5500 years & deterioration in all good things will come to a close , & unimaginable ,behavior will rule ,causing agony to one & all . One, without exception, high or .Low would be flaberghasted .are expected to happen What is happening so far is only the Tip of Iceberg .

Yes. there are some reasons for some to come to India. Money means many things to them. The reason for many not to return India could be that they hate India. India will be happy when they are there and will be happy when they have to come back. But the fact is India has produced them and can produce many more like them. Thus, ultimately it boils down to what a personality is.
NRIs are the reason why India enjoys such economic boom through doing business with the entire world. Our culture and traditions are being followed in almost it original format throughout the world, with temples and places of worship. In my opinion the rich culture of India is better fostered outside India than within India itself today. Indians living in India have adopted western ways of life and seem to thrive in it. In this age of the internet and globalization of economy, it is OK to settle wherever one pleases. As for personal issues such as taking care of parents etc., yes, they are personal and have to be dealt with by each individual in their own comfortable manner. No one can generalize that situation. Many parents are very outward and allow their children freedom of thought, speech and actions. Is'nt that what we all strive for. A more unified one world concept, but with individuality and freedom of expression.
