Vijay Dasami

All Iyengars are vaishnavaites but not vice versa
Iyyengars means a ashtanga yoga. One who follows Vishishtadvaita of Ramanujan is an iyyengar. Iyyengar pray to Lord Vishnu. Hence Iyyengars are vaishnavite. But Vaishnavites who come south and pray to Vishnu are also Iyyengars. Hence Tiru Raman was a Vaishnavite and an Iyyengar. Iyyengars and Vaishnavite are from any caste but essentially Vishnu devotee. It is Tiru Ramanujan who made all castes as vaishnavites and Iyyengars. The fair complexioned Iyyengars are from Brahmin and dark complexioned Iyyengars are from other castes. Tiru Raman was dark complexioned and of color of dark cloud. Now are you clear about this.
