I am not saying that we should not sympathize! :nono:

What I am asking is why the people do not sympathize with such cases in the South! out:

I guess the males in the South are more gentle and humane even when raping the unwilling females and fail to rake up shock, hatred and fear as these thugs from the North are able to do.

I was amazed by the shining red eyes on the spider cup cake!

I asked my son and D.I.Law who had baked it, about the eyes.

They had sliced a red jelly bean and made those edible eyes!!! :clap2:

In some five star hotels, ladies finger will be slit open in the tip to resemble a mouth of some animal! They put black

peppers in the place of eyes. I can never eat anything resembling N V stuff, even if it is prepared with vegetable! :nono:

That is a calender image. That is how we prefer to view Shiva. Shiva is described as Smasana vasa and Jada dhari. Then how come Shiva is clean shaven. Funny to say the least. You find a number of Shiva idols with Mustache. But not with a beard as he should be. In the Mahabharata serial you will find that everyone has mustache and beard except Krishna. The same with Ramayana serial. Only Rama and his brothers are clean shaven. A clean shaven Kshatriya? Krishna as Parthasarathy has a excellent Mustache in the Parthasarathy temple in Triplicane. Did he grow a mustache only for that role? I can go on.

We do go to considerable extent to portray Gods as we want them to be.

I remember the Tamil Brahmin Acharyas carrying on a campaign against Ravi Varma painting of Lakshmi, Saraswathi saying that Devi should not be Muktha kesi. Of course only Kali is called Muktha kesi. Did Devi have a kondai?

Some one at some point of time thought that all Gods should be clean shaven. Goddesses should have kondai.

In another religious forum people (from the West) were even arguing that Krishna is fair.

Note: I have been told often that I should not say such things about Deities and it is irreverant. But you asked me to think.

They ONLY baked these Halloween cakes but DID NOT eat them.
Those were baked for the school children who were non vegetarians anyway.

Even in Abhiraami anthaadhi we get this expression

Siva sports a mustache but not a beard.

Brahma sports a mustache as well as a beard.

We see the Gods the way we want to see them.

He who can control the whole creation can surely control

the growth rate (dr/dt) of His beard and mustache.

A bee sees its God as a bee with two stings instead of one.

God is projected in our own image but with extra heads and hands.

But He always has only two legs to enable us to catch hold of them tightly.

Isn't it good enough for us???

Now I understand how and why the style of letting the hair loose started,
gathered momentum and has come to stay among girls and ladies!

Every muktha kesi imagines herself to be goddess Lakshmi Devi or Saraswathi Devi and never ever as Durga Devi or Kaali maataa!

In Airlines it used to be a rule that all the air hostesses must tie up/pin up / bun up their hair and never let them loose.

This time I was surprised to see a girl whose whole face was covered by her hair except her prominent nose! She kept brushing aside her hair all the time with her fingers - even while serving food to the passengers.

Have the loosened the restriction to let these girls let loose their hair? :noidea:

But how any one could communicate through the dark curtain of hair
(aaniyan type) beats me!

Men never let loose their hair in the west. They comb their long hair well and put nice tight rubber bands!!!

In fact there will be two rubber bands - one for the beard and one for the hair in some cases!

The Gods/goddesses have always been modeled after the latest heroines. Padmini was the favorite, then Hema malini and so on The Gods look like girls dressed in male attire.

Boys less than or equal to 16 will look feminine anyway!
God is neither He, nor She nor It!
So even that way it is acceptable I think!
But surely all the heroines can't become models for Gods!
I do not want to name them but you can think of the long list of misfits yourself I am sure!

இந்த முறை செய்தது என்ன தெரியுமா? கேளுங்கள்!
வீட்டுக்கு ஓர் ஆள் விருந்துக்கு வந்தே ஆக வேண்டுமாம்!

"வந்தாலும் வராவிட்டாலும் பணம் தந்து விடுங்கள்!" என்ற
விந்தையான ஆணை மீண்டும் புரட்சிக்கு அடிகோலவே;

வெற்றிகரமாக ஆணையை உடனடியாக வாபஸ் வாங்கிவிட்டு,
குப்புற விழுந்தாலும் மீசையில் மண் ஒட்டவில்லை என்று ;

ஆணை மீண்டும் வந்தது வேறு வடிவில் "வீட்டுக்கு ஓர் ஆள்!"
சொல்லாதது "வந்தாலும் வராவிட்டாலும் பணம் தர வேண்டும்!"

பழைய கால மன்னர்களின் நினைவு வருகின்றது எனக்கு!
படை திரட்ட வேண்டுமா? "வீட்டுக்கு ஓர் ஆள் வர வேண்டும்!"

அணை கட்ட வேண்டுமா? "வீட்டுக்கு ஓர் ஆள் வர வேண்டும்!"
மன்னன் மாறினாலும், மன்னனின் மனோபாவம் மாறவில்லை!

A couple of paintings by Ravi Varma. These were printed as a calender by ICI and adorned the Puja rooms in my childhood days. Shiva with Mustache.





These are painted by a painter of portraits. Unfortunately this does not pay now. So most of the painters are people who paint Cinema posters. When these people paint pictures of Gods/Goddesses they can not help it resembling actors/actresses.
