In your definition of marriage, is there room for women's pov. Does it include divorce? Obviously you are talking of Manu marriage. The present reality is very different. Not too far from live-in arrangement.
The moment somebody evades a question (and that too by a wrong inference) is that time one knows that there is no purpose in that discussion.
hiThe advantage in conventional marriage is that at least it has the support of close relatives and friends, which will be useful in case of misunderstanding between the couple. How far live in relationship will have the tacit approval of relatives and friends is a question mark. In such an event, when there is a problem, the couple may find it difficult to get proper solution, which ultimately leads to separation. Such separations may at times lead to legal complications and police cases. This, in turn, will cause additional burden on the society, especially the Govt. and Judiciary.
Conventional and arranged marriages are still good with modifications like seeking approval from both brides and bridegrooms and thru open discussions.
