Chennaiites feel 'kathri effect' in full swing
Chennai: Chennaiites have been feeling the heat in the past few days, literally. The mercury has hit the 40 degrees Celsius mark and hit 41 degrees on Wednesday. As the 'Kathri' season winds down, city residents have been left huffing and puffing, so to speak.
The Met office here said that the temperatures are set to hover around the 40 degrees Celsius level. Perhaps as a result of the heat and humidity, Chennai is expected to receive thunder showers in the nights.
According to Regional Metrological Department, Chennai, some parts of the city will experience mild or thundershowers because of the prevailing heat wave.
