[Question] Can Brahmanas go to the crematorium for non family

Brahmin community follow lot of superstitions.
You have to definitely go to grave yard, do all help to bereaved family, console them.
Earlier if parents are alive, their children will not go to graveyard. now because of modern education, approach has changed. many children where parents alive also go to graveyard.

no prayaschitham . why required.
do daily sandhyavandanam . enough .

I am a dhvija and a close family friend has passed away. I am going to the funeral but am unsure if we are allowed to go to the graveyard. Are we allowed to go. And if we go is there any prayascitta
As human beings at times our compassion overrides traditional believes.
Its just very normal to give a friend a final send off.

Prayascitta is only for a sin.
A final send off is not a sin.
