Today is the Aadi Uthiraadam - Thiru Nakshathiram of Sri Alavandhar - grandson of Sri Nathamunigal.
Our Sri Vaishnava Sampradhyam is referred to as Emperumaanaar Dharisanam, Ramanuja Sampradhyam with Swami Ramanuja as the leader or Amudalvan. The task of identification of Amudalvan fell on Sri Alavandhar who visited Kanchi Devaperumal temple to observe Elaiyaazhwar who was under the training of Advaitic Guru Yadava Prakasar then. Convinced that Elayazhwar indeed is the one to spearhead Vishishtadvaitam Sri Alavandhar feels a bit despondent about the him (Elayazhwar being trained by an Advaitic Guru). Hence Sri Alavandhar takes refuge in Kanchi Varadharajar on behalf of Sri Ramanuja with the slokam

(Meaning): Oh Boon granting VaradA ! adiyEn performs SaraNAgati unto You. Through a miniscule part of Your infinite grace, the deaf acquire the power ot hear ; the lame ones walk briskly; the blind ones see; the maladi concieves. Oh Deva Deva! adiyEn trusts that You will accept my prayer.
At first glance one might wonder what is the link between this Sloka and Sri Ramanuja becoming the head of the Sampradhyam.
At present Elayazhwar is deaf to the real Vishistadvaita philosphical discussions being trained by an advaitic guru, his mobility is constrained within a small place like a lame person, he should move around to Sri Rangam and other centers of Sri Vaishnavam, he should be showering discourses on faithful rather than be a mute spectator to Yadavaprakasa wrong interpretations, he should have gnana drishti and access material to write Sri Bhasyam and Gita Bhasyam and instead of being a single person to should lead a whole cohort of Yatis to propagate the Sampradhayam (73 Simhasanathipathis of Sri Ramanuja).
