The Expressway to the Future! India’s Longest Access Controlled Concrete Pavement Expressway – engineered and built to international standards by JAYPEE Group, along Yamuna river connecting Noida and Agra. With the commissioning of Yamuna Expressway, “The drive between Noida and Agra is never going to be the same again” as the 165 km long express corridor drastically reduces the travel time, making it the fastest mode of transport between these two cities, even compared to air travel (considering airport transfers & formalities).

The scale and significance of this Expressway can’t be judged merely by the 165 kms it covers, but by the sheer number of lives it touches day after day, be it the neighbourhood villagers, tourists, traders or working professionals. This Expressway promises to bring a difference to the lives of scores of such people and their future generations besides becoming a catalyst for the all-round socio-economic development of the areas around the Expressway and the lifeline for sustained growth in trade and commerce for years to come.

From a wider perspective, the Expressway showcases the country’s ability in developing world-class infrastructure to fuel its inclusive economic growth and prosperity.

The Project was conceived by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh in 2001 as a crucial enabler for the all-round economic development and growth of the region between the two mighty rivers Ganga & Yamuna and with this purpose in view, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (earlier known as Taj Expressway Industrial Development Authority) was formed.

Jaiprakash Associates Ltd., the flagship company of JAYPEE group won the competitive bidding and was awarded the Project through a Concession Agreement signed on 7th Feb 2003, for construction of 165 km long access controlled expressway with a construction period of 7 years & concession period of 36 years from Commercial Operation Date (COD). Accordingly, Jaypee Infratech Ltd. a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) was incorporated as the ‘Concessionaire’ to develop the Project. The scope also included ribbon development of 6175 acres at five different locations along the Expressway for commercial, industrial, institutional, residential and amusement purposes.
