Women really can't keep a secret: Tongues start wagging after just 47 hours



Ever wondered how long a woman can keep a secret? Well the answer, it seems, is less than two days.
Researchers found that they will typically spill the beans to someone else in 47 hours and 15 minutes.

A study of 3,000 women aged between 18 and 65 also found that four in ten were unable to keep a secret, no matter how personal or confidential the news was.

Could it be because men usually do not have friends for chats, they have business buddies, or drinking partners. In the drinking partners they try to impress each other with tall tales of conquests and dirty jokes.

Men also gossip when they have time and they are not talking about themselves.

After the battle of Kurukshetra, Yudhisthira performed the funeral rites for all loved ones. Then Kunti revealed a secret that Karn (Radheya) was her son. Yudhishthira got deeply hurt that Kunti did not reveal to him earlier that Karna was his brother. The depressed prince, in turn, cursed that no woman, henceforth, would be able to keep any secrets.

It is a proven fact that women can't keep secrets. It is true for about 90% females. Does the reason belong to Hindu mythology? Did Yudhishthira curse her own mother Kunti? –

This is not true...women can keep secrets if its about themselves.

BTW some of us women have kept secrets that friends had shared with us..I so much about some male doctor friends of mine that I have never ever divulged to anyone including their wives.

There is something called trust where we should never betray a friend and go behind their back even after the relationship has soured...we have to honour the times we had been friends with that person and cherish those good times even though they might not be friends anymore.

secrets I have shared about me have been told back to me in modified form. in shortest possible time . there are some rules for secret sharing some below
1. Talk in hush-hush tone if you want more people to know
2. Divulge in instalments. leave some scope for modifications
3. Tell the same secrets to different persons in various ways to make it spread well
4 secrets are not gender sensitive. however older people are better in spreading them . have a choice of population gender and agewise to share secrets

Here is another study which says women keep secrets only for 32 Minutes!!!

No matter how personal or confidential the information, one in 10 women admitted to being unable to keep a secret, while almost half who took part said they'd often felt the need to offload their secrets to someone.
