Why we perform a ritual and what is the importance of such rituals?

Hi I am a new member. I wanted to know about our Brahmin culture. When we perform certain rituals I would like to know more about it as to why we perform this ritual? What is the importance of such rituals etc.

மகான்களுக்கு நாம் பைத்தியம்!

இந்த வார கல்கி.

பைத்தியம் பிடித்த ஒருவனிடம் ‘இந்தத் தடியைக் கால்மணி நேரம் பிடித்துக்கொண்டே இரு’ என்றால் அவனால் முடியாது. நம்மால் அந்தத் தடியைக் கால்மணி நேரம் பிடித்துக்கொண்டிருக்க முடிகிறது. ஸ்தூல வஸ்துவை நம்மால் பிடிக்க முடிகிறது. ஆனால் ‘ஒரு பொருளை மட்டும் குறிப்பிட்ட நேரம்வரை நினைத்துக்கொண்டு இரு’ என்றால் அப்படிச் செய்ய முடியவில்லை. சித்தம் மறுகணமே ஆயிரக்கணக்கான எண்ணங்களை சினிமாப் படங்கள் ஓடுவதுபோல் ஓட்டமாக ஓடியபடி நினைக்கிறது. ஆகையால், நாம் எப்படிப் பைத்தியங்களை நினைக்கிறோமோ, அதுபோல் மகான்களுக்கு நாமும் பைத்தியமாகத்தான் படுவோம்.

மனம் கட்டப்படுகிற வரையில் எல்லோரும் பல வகைப்பட்ட பைத்தியங்களே. அழுக்குடனுள்ள கண்ணாடி ஆடுவதுபோல் நம்முடைய சித்தம் தோஷத்துடனும் ஐகாக்ரதை இல்லாமலும் (ஒரு முகமாகாமலும்) இருப்பதுதான் இதற்குக் காரணம். தோஷம் போனால் ஐகாக்ரதை வரும்; ஐகாக்ரதை வந்தால் உண்மை விளங்கும்.

Sir all rituvals are done by some rules established by sutras. when we follow a paritular sutram then we have to perform the rutuval
according to that sutram each and every rituval has its importance if you ask particular of rituval then we can explain that
bnecause it is not posibe to explain all them in s blind manner.
