Why is Vijayadashami on Friday and Saraswati Pooja on Thursday for some people?

My mother informed me yday that as per Triplicane Parthasarathy Temple, this year Vijayadashami is on Friday and Saraswati Pooja on Thursday?

When the whole world is celebrating Saraswati Pooja on Wednesday and Vijayadashami on Thursday, why it is different for some of us?

Is it different for Iyengars and Iyers?

In the North too Dasami is on Friday & should be a Holiday(Oct 23)...Earlier it was construed as Thursday and Holidays were given on 22nd Oct

Tamil Nadu banks are very intelligent in declaring holidays. They shifted Muharram to Friday

so that along with the fourth Saturday (24), there will be five consecutive holidays!!
