Why do we forget memories of our childhood!

The earliest that I can remember is when I put my head inside a gutter (open drain for water)..My head had to be pulled out by Annamalai our servant..That happened when I was 3 years old...I do not remember the earlier incidents as an infant...

I always used to think why I do not remember the earlier ones

Now I have an answer

During infancy, in humans and many animals, a memory center of the brain called the hippocampus (blue) churns out new neurons (white). These cells may mess up early memories and could explain why adults can’t remember being babies or toddlers.

Now technology has some answers. Photos and videos of the toddler will revive memories.
I remember many incidents, from akshrabyasam days, but no memory of what I looked like till eight, when the first photo was taken.

I think it is time research is initiated to find out whether what your wife, her kith and kin and sometimes your children too, assert that you are forgetful, is right. Like conflict of interests, conflict of ideas/thoughts can also result in your falsely being called forgetful.
