Why do Gurus give examples of social life they know nothing about?

I do not appreciate spiritual lectures, where wrong example of social life are given.
In the lecture I went to attend the learned Sanyasi was giving a talk to mostly American audience. There were about 30% PIO too.
He was chiding the audience about the consumerism, ok that is par for the course. Him being a vedantin he has to rile against materialism, that is expected.
The topic being AHIMSA he had to rile against Meat eating. But to describe in detail the method of butchering and selling goat meat in India was not required. I felt insulted as PIO, in front of all those Americans.

Similarly criticising the American about their preoccupation with spread of Nuclear Arms to N. Korea was not warranted. He also made a misleading statement that Indians were not worried that Pakistan and China may drop A-bomb. Obviously he is not briefed properly.

I think in addition to scriptural knowledge they should be schooled in communication skills. They must also be knowledgeable about the etticutt of the audience society.
