We use to here the following phrases from many persons:
1.Kandavar vindilar, vindavar kandilar
2.AppothaikkippothE sollivaiththen

Can anybody tell me where from these books could be referred and whose words are these.

'Appothaikku Ippodhe sollivaithen'
is from PeriaAlwar (Sri Andal's Father) one of the Twelve Alwars.
It goes like this.


The exalted soul Periaazhvaar was fearful that he may
fail to remember our Lord's thirunaamam when Yama's agents are
upon him. In ten beautiful paasurams of Periaazvaar Thiru mozhi
(4.10.1 - 4.10.10) aazhvaar repeats this theme "appothaikku
ippOdhE sollivaiththEn." The first of these 10 paasurams is:

thuppudaiyaarai_adaivadhellaam
sOrvidaththuththuNaiyaavarenRE
oppilEnaakilumn^innadaindhEn
aanaikkun^ee_aruLseydhamaiyaal
eyppu_ennaivandhun^aliyumpOdhu
angu_Edhumn^aanunnain^inaikkamaattEn
appOdhaikku_ippOdhEsollivaiththEn
arangaththaravaNaippaLLiyaanE!

"The meek surrender to You, confident that
You will save them when their strengths are gone;
I am of no merit, yet I surrender unto You,
with unshakable faith that You will save me,
like You saved GajEdran.
O! the Lord of Sri Rangam, slumbering upon the snake-bed,
when old age is upon me, I won't think of You;
So, let me surrender unto You, right here and now.

இதை யார் முதலில் சொன்னார்களோ? இதன் விளக்கத்தைப் பலர் கூறுகின்றனர்.

திருமூலரின் திருமந்திரம் காட்டும் உண்மை:

உரையற்றது ஒன்றை உரை செய்யும் ஊமர்காள்
கரையற்றது ஒன்றைக் கரைகாணல் ஆகுமோ
திரையற்ற நீர்போல் சிந்தை தெளிவார்க்குப்
புரையற்றிருந்தான் புரிசடையோனே (2915)


பொருள்: கடவுளை வருணிக்க முடியாது. கரை காண முடியாத கடல் போல அவன் எங்கும் நிறந்தவன். அவனைச்

சொல்லுக்குள் அடக்க முயன்றவர்கள் எல்லாம் திணறிப் போய் ஊமையர் போல நிற்கின்றனர். கண்டவர் விண்டிலர்.

விண்டவர் கண்டிலர். ஆனால் தெளிந்த மனது உடையோருக்கு அவன் எளிதில் புரிபடுவான்.
