One who is not brain dead!

One needs to be ethical and leave religion and spirituality out of politics or any profession for that matter.

Adhering to principles need not be linked to spirituality or religion.

I will never vote anyone who uses spirituality as base for anything cos then we would be dealing with a smooth manipulator.

It isnt too hard to be ethical sans mumbo jumbo or god fearing.

If one reads Chanakya Neethi..when on earth has he mentioned spirituality?

He sticks to logic and ways to get out of the Chakra Vyuha of political rivarly and warfare.

Even Bhagavad Geeta for that matter..does Lord Krishna link spirituality and war?

Nope!

Even God doesnt link spirituality and politics.

The poll conducted by India Today-Karvy - the results of which were telecast on Tuesday evening -predicted that the superstar's party will get 16% votes in the event of a mid-term poll today.

The advantage is for DMK. The Dravidian major, which has been carrying the opposition cross in the state since May 2011, will bag 130 seats along with its allies, said the survey. It will get 34% of the popular vote, more than double of what Rajinikanth's party is likely to get. Despite being projected as the front-runner, DMKand its allies may lose 4% of the votes that they got in the May 2016 assembly poll, in which they won 98 seats.

Tamil Nadu is under the influence or clutches of Dravidian parties.

Stars may glitter now…

But it is the Sun that is predicted to win

Rajinikanth's plunge may catapult Stalin to CM job: Opinion poll

my first post was more of a multiple-choice question open for any answer as choice provided substantiated with strong arguments.

although your post is factually accurate I think it is a digression.

let us discuss the qualifications and eligibility required for an individual to qualify to be TN CM

thanks for your understanding!!!

You may have multiple choice of questions....

Every voter of Tamil Nadu may have colourful dream of his leader..

But he can exercise his franchise only to a candidate who contest

And BTW who will get ticket to contest.. there lies the matter.

Even Udhayanidhi Stalin says that if he gets a ticket, he will contest in election.

It is the popularity of the leader who wins the heart of public (either hook or crook) at the time of election..... that matters.

Jayalalitha visited most of the Hindu temples in Tamil Nadu...

She visited Mahamaham temple and took dip at the temple tank..

jayalalitha%20%20with%20Elephant%20at%20Guruvyur%20Sree%20Krishna%20Temple%20Near%20Thrissur

And this the point of view of Thuluk Editor Mr. Gurumurthy...

Advocates of the Dravidian movement argue that the BJP brand of Hinduism will never gain a foothold in the state that has an identity of its own including in religious beliefs. "I actually think TN is the most Hinduized state in the country . Almost a crore of people go to Sabarimala. A quarter million people go to Palani every month, thirty lakh go to Melmaruvathur. This is what de-dravidianized Ta mil Nadu. Hindu gods defeated Dravidianism. The psyche of Tamils is that they have more faith in gods than leaders. They see god in their leader, not leader as god."

Objective and ideal leadership qualities, not subjective criterions, discuss shall we sir, please!

Vanakkam,

I do feel Tamil Nadu should be lead by a responsible person and a person who gives priority to the public concerns and needs. If these two traits are there in a person, all good things will happen.

I pray to God that such person will be there.

You may please list out his disqualification/demerits...
most honorable most respectable mr v bala sir, let us not counter-argue.

agreed, he has no demerits.

please explicitly spell out his merits. he is an intelligent chartered accountant I know and good editor.

my query is not aimed at identifying the perfect individual.

Who prescribed these qualification.....?

What was prescribed in the constitution of India.?

Once Madras Presidency, whole of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, including parts of Odisha, Kerala and Karnataka were ruled by Chief Ministers during British Era.

After Independence, we had (1) P.S. Kumaraswamy Raja, (2) C. Rajagopalachari, (3) K. Kamaraj (4) Bakthavatsalam, (5) Nedunchezhiyan (6) M. Karunanidhi (7) M.G. Ramachandran, (8) Janaki Ramachandran (9) J. Jayalalitha (10) O. Panneerselvam and (11) K. Palanisamy.

Now tell me what was the qualifications these leaders had viz Serial Nos.8 and 10...?

What are all the qualifications prescribed by the Constitution of India...?

I think going by the past, anyone who is a citizen of India, is qualified to become Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu provided he is recognized as a leader by the public of Tamil Nadu at the time of Election and secures required mandate.

Individuals cannot prescribe qualifications..it is mass...the public.

We have a regional party leader by name Stalin, who is no way connected to either Community Party, Russian nation or Russian language

We have a national party leader with suffix of Gandhi in his name, who is no way connected with the family of M.K. Gandhi, the father of our nation.

We have a Haryana born, bureaucrat-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal, who launched a political party in 2012 and become Chief Minister of Delhi in 2013.

Politics in India is quite unpredictable and beyond minimum eligibility, qualification, celebrity, nativity, mother tongue, etc.

It is an open choice for leaders to make best use of the opportunity to serve the public

In the State of Tamil Nadu Dravidian movement, politics and cinema do have a bonding relationship.

We now have many actor-turned-politicians trying their best

But success may NOT come to them immediately as politics is not a bed of roses.

They had to traverse lower political rungs for many years to establish themselves as leaders and gain public confidence to win elections.

@ V. Balasubramaniam: "Individual cannot prescribe qualifications..it is mass..the public

agreed with a slight variation. the constitution of india prescribes qualifications but the mass public have the trump card to elect the cm.

let us discuss the eligibility criteria, the strengths, the calibre etc etc an individual shall possess to effectively lead TN as CM.
