renuka Feb 12, 2021 #3 Shri in Sanskrit is used to denote Mr. Shrimati is to denote Mrs. So for eg if a persons name is Goundamani..in Sanskrit he would be addressed as Shri Goundamani. Its just a neutral terminology. In Arabic a Sayeed is used to denote Mr Sayeeda to denote Mrs. So in Arabic, Goundamani would be addressed as Sayeed Goundamani.
