What makes a Nation..?

I wrote this for our Independence Day..

[FONT=&quot]What makes us all a nation..?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]A colored flag or a flavored slogan..?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]A herd mentality inspiring notion..?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]A common hate-filled passion..?[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Is it the love of the feeding land..?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Love of mountains, rivers and their sand..?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Is it the love of structures of yore..?[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]A blind belief in all our folk-lore..?[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Earthworms help dig up the soil[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Plants and shrubs grow on their toil[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Feed the worms with rotten roots[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Herbivores live on the plant's shoots[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Trees dig deep bringing out water[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Birds and Animals have them for shelter[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Diverse beings in a patch of vegetation[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Inter-dependence makes them a nation..[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]Worms across the world form one family[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Same with tree, plant, animal or a bee[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Yet as they live in different vegetations[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]They become beings of different nations[/FONT]

[FONT=&quot]A nation is bound by this zeal together[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]To sustain, grow and evolve further..[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Of people with different ideas and 'gunas'[/FONT]
[FONT=&quot]Sacrificing for each other's lacuna..[/FONT]


[FONT=&quot]Happy Independence day..[/FONT]
