What foods constitute "Jaathi Dushtam"

Meat, alcohol, onion, garlic are by jaathi, dushtam.....I have recently sinned by unknowingly consuming gongura(telugu) pickle /pulicha keerai(tamil) and this belongs to Jaathi dushtam. I now, need to know what foods fall under Jaathi dushtam ?

1)Frozen food.

2)Food stored more than 4 hours

3)Coffee and tea are Rajasic but dont know if its Dusthtam.

4)Fermented food..Cheese is considered Tamasic.

5)Food purchased by using Haram money.

6)Food that is not Halal.

7)Food cooked in anger.

8)Food cooked by a person who had negative thoughts or ill intention.

9)Some include Mushrooms and Tubers too.

10)Food that is not offered to God first.





List is very very long...if we follow everything we would have nothing to eat.

Ridge Gourd is also considered Jaathi Dushtam
I am not sure about Potato

@Renuka the ones about 'Food' you mentioned belong to Asraya Dushtam and can be cleaned by offering them to Sri Krushna although outside hotel foods are restricted because they are not offered to Krushna and nistha they follow may be nasty....

Even I used to take them except meat/alcohol before samskaaram but after that I stopped consuming them ...Doesn't matter really..Starting few days may be tough but after that you get used to it as we have many alternates.

Any standard Desika Prabhantham edition will give you this information under the work AAhaaraniyamam (ஆஹார நியமம்). It is made up of 21 poems and gives a complete list of food which are to kept away. Samples:

வாயினின்றும் விழுமவை தாம் பட்ட சோறும்

The list is made before refrigeration became available.

How about Hotel food?
Oh most of the Hotel food is stored for days not hours.
