TRAVEL: If the star at the time of travel is the 2nd,4th,6th, 8th or 9th from the star of the traveller , it is auspicious. The 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th 11 th 1nd 13th thithis. Aswini, mirugasirusham, pushyam hastham,anusham,avitam, thiruvonam, revathy stars, Vrishabam, simha, kataka, thulam,and dhanus lagnas are highly preferable.
The 5th place from lagnam should be clear. If the Moon is in the 8th rasi from the traveller's rasi, Travel should not be undertaken. This is called chandrashtamam. Going towards eastern direction on mondays and saturdays, the north on tuesdays and wednesdays, the south on thursdays, and west on fridays and sundays.should be avoided as these are called Soolam. can go after soola pariharam. On the thithi of setting out of the journey, if the yogini is behind or on the right side it is good. If it is on the front or on the left side it is bad. If it is on the sky or earth it is medium.( neither good nor bad). The propititions and contination of thithi, star, day, week, lagnam, soolam, yogini in the manner stated above is very rare.
Therefore one should prostate and pray the Almighty who is in the soorya mandalam and should pray the ishta devatha, and worship brahmins, and offer them fruits, betels, and Yathraa dhaanam (dakshinai) before starting on the journey which will make it fruitful.
