Three TN girls who committed suicide were victims of an education scam at a ghost college

The family of Monisha cannot accept this as a suicide, and say that all the students at the college suffer

On January 23, Tamilarasan was having a relaxed Saturday afternoon in Chennai when he got a call asking for his 19-yearl-old daughter Monisha. The caller, according to Monisha’s cousin Anbazhagan who narrated the events to TNM, was Vasuki Subramaniam, the principal of the college where Monisha studied. “Where is your daughter?” she reportedly asked. When she was told she was at the college in Villupuram, Vasuki asked Tamilarasan to come to the Sri Ramachandra hospital in Chennai to meet her.

Monisha had been studying at the SVS Medical College of Yoga and Naturopathy and Research Institute at Bangaram in Villupuram district, and for several months, the students have been protesting against the college administration due to poor facilities and absent teachers. Fearing that his daughter might be in trouble, he took his nephew Anbazhagan and rushed to the hospital. Monisha was not reachable on her phone now. Monisha had called them earlier in the evening, and had told them that she will call back later in the night.

No private college is started for the mission of education. Colleges are started and conducted only as a business. The system of “payment seats” allures the black money holders to start colleges and multiply their black money, further.

In Tamilnadu, majority of all private medical / engineering colleges are owned by politicians of all major political parties.

We do have such colleges functioning in Tamil Nadu. And what is role of the State Government?

Is it suicide.....The letter has already been contested by the parents...Only a detailed investigation will clear the air around the mysterious suicide

Despite flouting norms, this college in particular reported to have evded action.

Unless the background of the college is fully known, it is difficult identify the real culprits.

Traditionally the sectors like Education & Healthcare are Service sectors. Sectors like Banking, Trading are commercial sectors. Slowly over the past three decades, Education & Healthcare have become lucrative Commercial opportunities. Banking sector has become service sector. This is the paradox.

This is the reason that most of the politicians park their ill-gotten money in Education sector for perennial flow of income ! God save our country !

Three deaths, but MGR medical varsity makes excuses for ignoring lapses on Villupuram college

MGR University had been providing provisional affiliation from 2008.

Excerpts:

Asked if the university knew about the exorbitant fees collected by the college and why it did not take any action against it, “We had received complaints from students and parents stating that the college was over-charging students. But they did not have any proof or evidence against the college so how can we take an action against them regarding this?”

He also said that in the past two to three months only everything has started erupting. We could not take any action because the students cannot be shifted to different colleges immediately.

Referring to the students who discontinued studies in the college due to harassment, he said, “Those students have to prove the claims they are making against the college then only we will be able to help them.”

There is now a twist in this case

[h=1]3 மாணவிகள் மரணம் திட்டமிட்டு நடந்த கொலை: எஸ்.வி.எஸ்.கல்லூரி தாளாளர் வாசுகி வாக்குமூலம்![/h]
