A proverb a day to brighten the day!

534a.
Die Ironie der Ratschläge????
Die Person, die am meisten gibt, ist dafür am wenigsten qualifiziert

534b.
The irony of giving advices????
The person who gives them most is least qualified to do so

My father used to tell us this.
"Never give anyone any advice.
The wise man doesn't need it.
and the fool won't take it"

I guess we were NOT yet wise enough so as NOT to need it
and NOT yet foolish enough so as not to take it. So here am I!

footnotes:
Die = The
Ironie = irony
der Ratschläge = of giving advice????
Die = The
Person = person
die = who
gibt = gives
am meisten = most
ist = is
am wenigsten = the least
qualifiziert = qualified
dafür = for doing that

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

535a. Feuer und Geld sind sehr gute Diener, aber sehr gefährliche Meister.

535b. Fire and Money are very good servants but very dangerous masters.

A lot depends on who is the controller and who is the one being controlled!
We are always either 'controlling' someone or 'being controlled' by someone.
Remember.... The law of the jungle is "Kill or get killed"

footnotes:
Feuer = Fire
und = and
Geld = money
sind = are
sehr = very
gute = good
Diener = servants
aber = but
sehr = very
gefährliche = dangerous
Meister = masters

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

538a. Solange es Leben gibt, gibt es Hoffnung.
538b. As long as there is life, there is a hope.

Does this explain why man wants to live on -
in spite of all the problems he has to put up with?

Everything is progressive in human life.
Everything good/ bad/ ugly either
improve or worsen with the passing time.

Man learns to adjust to, compromise with and tolerate everything!

That is why living is so much more challenging than ending one's own life.

footnotes:
Solange = As long as
es gibt = there is
Leben = Life,
gibt es = there is
Hoffnung = Hope.

Hope is the only thing that makes life go on...
even when it is a just distant spec of flickering light
at the end of a long and dark tunnel!

Maa Visalakshi,

Bhakthi is not exclusive only to Vaishnavism, however loudly they may claim. The Nayanmars started the Bhakthi movement and were some of the greatest Bhakthas. The Saktha Bhakthi movement of Bengal is well known. Ram Prasad Sen was a great Kali Bhaktha.

I am sorry. I thought I should bring this to your attention.
Very Nice. In another words Bhakthi is nothing but a emotional. If one thinks deeply. This is truth. What is the end of bhakthi...... identifying the deity with your own self. It starts with Dwaitha to end with Adwaitha. If one sees GOD it is true and also false. If one have the darshan of GOD, he sees through his indriyas and it is true. it is falls because the indriyas are not permanent, so it is falls. What is true is who sees the GOD it is nothing but his own reflection.

Some typo errors. Kindly ignore. It is False and not falls. Sorry

I had better NOT get into an argument with anyone named 'Aathmavicharam".

I believe that God is there in everyone of us - whether we accept it or not.

He / She keeps an eye on us like a loving parent over a truant child.

I know that every breath we inhale / exhale is monitored by God.

HE ONLY KNOWS which breath will become our very last and when!

Now I have realised that keeping the karmendriyas free from sin

and the jnanendriyas focused on God is enough for one's salvation.

Whether we 'see God' or 'merge with God' hardly matters to me.

Usually the ones who make the loudest claims are NOT what they claim to be!

Anything that has to be 'proved' and 'established' is often of little or no value! 🙏

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

538a. Eifer ohne Ziel ist ein außer Kontrolle geratenes Pferd

538b. Zeal without an aim is a runaway horse

Dispersed light is good for vision and most of our day to day activities.

But when ordinary light is transformed into a Laser, light can become 'a sharp tool!"
All the light rays are coherent and enhance one another to form a powerful beam of light.

Similarly all the zeal, enthusiasm and hard work of a person must have AN AIM!
Otherwise they get scattered like the diffused sun's rays and go in waste.

footnotes:
Eifer = Zeal
ohne = without
Ziel = aim
ist = is
ein = a
außer = out of
Kontrolle = control
geratenes = runaway
Pferd = horse.

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

539a. Zeit und Geduld verwandeln die Maulbeerblätter in reiche Seide

Everything / everyone needs its / his allotted time to bloom and bear fruits.
We can't fast forward real life and real events. Patience always pays back!

footnotes:
Zeit = Time
und = and
Geduld = patience
verwandeln = transform
die = the
Maulbeerblätter = mulberry leaves
in = into
reiche = rich
Seide = silk

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

540a. Wenn die Katze weggeht, kommen die Mäuse heraus und spielen

540b. When the cat goes away the mice come out and play.

Sounds very uninteresting right?

Replace the word 'cat' with a husband (or a wife).
Replace the word 'mice' with a wife (or a husband).

Now apply them in the above sentence.
Viola! It has become so much more real-life-like now!

A happy husband:
One who behaves exactly in the same manner whether ot not his wife is around

A happy wife:
One who behaves exactly in the same manner whether or not her husband is around.

Happy children"
Those who behave exactly in the same manner whether or not their parent are around!

footnotes:
Wenn = When
die = the
Katze = cat
weg geht = goes away
die Mäuse = the mice
kommen = come
heraus = out
und = and
spielen = play.

P.S

Once my husband's classmate (80 + ) visited us in out flat in Coimbatore.
Hie wife (70 + ) was trying to find his whereabouts from chennai.

She kept asking him where he was and he kept saying," I am outside the hotel".
I understood the power of the spouse who has mastered the art of remote monitoring!

(How about Fixing chips on the dome of the dear husband and locating him by a GPS?)
(May become a reality in the near future!)
