The Time has come when man realizes that he is just a small link in a long human chain.
He is just like a small drop of water in the ocean of humanity.
If he should keep well, then everyone else must keep well too.
He alone can't be well when everyone else is ill.
At the same time man is now scared of everyone else!
He is keeps at a safe distance when he has a conversation with anyone else.
Packets are left outside for a period of time and taken inside after cleaning with an alcohol swipe. Well! one can never be too careful in dealing with an invisible and (at present) invincible enemy!

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

157a. Man findet bald einen Stecken , wenn Man einen Hund schlagen will.
157b. One finds a stick soon, when one wants to
thrash a dog.

Necessity is the mother of invention.
Necessity makes us alert and awake.

We see things which we have never before registered seeing.
We find new uses for the stale and old things we happen to see.

siru thurumbum pal kuththa udhavum!
kONaik kazhiyum ENaikku udhavum!

Man = One
findet = finds
einen Stecken = a stick

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

158a. Man kann die Natur nicht ändern.
158b. One cannot change one's nature.

As they say a leopard can't change its spots, nor a tiger its stripes.
One can't straighten the tail of a dog or a pig - however hard he tries!

Women spend a ton of money and time in straightening their curly/ wavy hair or in
trying to curl or get a wavy hair out of their straight hair by using hot irons and curlers!

So true nature can never be changed permanently.
How much easier life will become if only they accept this truth!

Man = One
kann = can
nicht = not
ändern = change
die = the
Natur = nature

Paradox in real life.

View attachment 9312

1. Why was the morality rate of women giving birth different in different wards of the same hospital?

2.Why did the ward attended to by the doctors have more death than that attended by the less qualified midwives?

3. Why was giving birth in an unclean street safer than giving birth in a hospital?

4. What is the connection between all the above questions and the spreading of COVID 19???

Read on to find out all these answers and know the man who found the cause for the paradox!

Ignaz Semmelweis
Austrian-Hungarian physician
Ignaz Philipp Semmelweis was an Austrian-Hungarian physician and scientist, now known as an early pioneer of antiseptic procedures. Described as the "savior of mothers", Semmelweis discovered that the incidence of puerperal fever could be drastically cut by the use of hand disinfection in obstetrical clinics. Wikipedia

Born: July 1, 1818, Buda
Died: August 13, 1865, Oberdöbling, Vienna, Austria
Known for: Introducing hand disinfection standards, in obstetrical clinics, from 1847
Books: Etiology, Concept and Prophylaxis of Childbed Fever
Education: University of Vienna (1837–1844), Eötvös Loránd University
Children: Antónia Semmelweis, Szemerényi Margit, Szemerényi Béla

The ONLY thing I have learned from History is that Man does not learn anything from History!
Man resists new ideas, new theories, now concepts, new methods and even new predictions.

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

159a. Man muss die Dinge nehmen, wie sie kommen.
159b. One must take the things as they come.

Beggars can't make special demands.
Beggars must be grateful for what they receive.

We are powerless while dealing with Fate.
We never were nor will ever become the Master of Fate.

So the best thing to do is
accept the things as they come
and try to make a good bargain out of every bad offer we are given!

My Bengali friend used to say very often,
"Hope for the best and prepare for the worst!"

Man = One
muss = must
nehmen = take / accept
die = the
Dinge things
wie = as
sie = they
kommen = come

Too much togetherness is totally scary!!!

I guess distance adds enchantment not just to our view but also to our relationships.
Too much of anything is too good for nothing! Very True! Never doubt this statement!

East or West Home is NOT the best now!
Domestic violence is on the increase everywhere!

The stronger spouse thrashes the weaker spouse
and of course all the helpless children in the house.

I was shocked to read an article by a doctor claiming that
Children face more dangers in their homes than in their schools.
Accidents of all kinds and abusing parents may even get some kids killed!

Americans believe schools are more unsafe today than they were two ... vast majority of those deaths take place at home or in the neighborhood.

Some marriages can survive only .....:unsure:

1. If each partner has a separate bathroom (y)

2. If they are lucky and get separate beds in the same room :giggle:

3. If they are more lucky and get separate bedrooms ;)

4. The luckiest ones here have an open marriage! :eek:

I think the first option is A MUST for surviving without blowing a fuse! :sick:

The last option is unacceptable for old fashioned old Indians like me. (n)

one after another very sooner.
Then they were hanged together.
Partners in Life and partners in death!

Mit = together
gefangen = caught
mit = together
gehangen = hanged.

They might have recited as their wish
"unnAle naan kettEn ennAle nee kettE"

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

161a. Was sein muss, muss sein.
161b. What must be, must be.

Everything happening has an invisible connection with every other thing happening.
Nothing is really either unrelated
or isolated incidents.
One terrorist got killed one day and one plane load of people got killed the day after.

Who were they? How were they related to one another?
Why did they ALL choose to travel on that particular day -
little knowing that it would become a fateful day in their lives?

A story goes thus:-
nAradA saw yama eyeing a little bird - as yama left on one of his professional visits.
nAradA wanted to save the little bird - since he know what yama's glance meant!

nArada took the bird far far away and left it inside a cave.
The snake inside the cave
promptly devoured the little bird!

nAradA did not
realize that yama's glance actually meant this,
"How can a bird seen here, get eaten by a snake living far far away, in a short while?

Destiny will be already waiting for us, in the short cut we take, in order to avoid it!

Was = What
muss = must
sein = be
muss = must
sein = be.

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

#162a. Mit Honig fängt Man Fleigen.
#162b. Man catches flies with honey.

Man uses the weakness of others for his selfish purposes.
He is the Master in the art of manipulating and

Man knows the price of everything and everyone in term of
Money, Wine and Women ( aka Potti, Putti and Kutti).

Most men are attracted by one or more of these three.
More the weaknesses ...easier to manipulate that person!

Man = One / Man
fängt = catches
Fleigen = the flies
mit = with
Honig = honey

He gives twice, who gives in a trice. 👏

I believe in this statement with all my heart.
So I do not wait to be formally approached for any help.

If I know that someone needs something which i have
I will willingly part with that even before they request.

But often this backfires - as most good deeds do. :sick:

Instead of thanking me for the help I have willingly done....
I am expected to be thankful to them for accepting my help! :oops:

They feel that they are giving me chance to help them
and I should remain grateful for giving me that chance! :rolleyes:

The Ways of the World are Weird! Have no doubts! :(

A proverb a day to brighten the day!

163a. Männer machen Kleider und Kleider machen Männer
163b. Men make dresses and Dresses make men.

aaL paadhi; aadai paadhi!

Men make respectable clothes.

Clothes make men respectable.

Kings and superheroes wear tall crowns and heavy coats or flowing capes

to look larger than life. Size matters while commanding respect!

The crown of Lord Sree bAlAji is unusually tall, adding to His height further.
Some people feel superior due to their height. But is not a merit earned by them.

Some are made tall; some short. Some are made beautiful; some ugly.

ONLY What a person earns to his credit in the hard way, can make him feel successful.

Männer = Men
machen = make
Kleider = dresses
und = and
Kleider = dresses
machen = make
Männer = men
