I was looking for a needle in haystack - when I was on the lookout for rhyming sentences.

I had forgotten that the shining needles I was seeking were available
readily and in plenty in the form of Quotes and Proverbs.

A Proverb (in any language) is made up of the longest human experience put in the shortest sentence - using as many rhyming words as possible.

Now that I have discovered the source I will be sharing here with you all
One Proverb Everyday in English and its German equivalent.

Who knows...Someone somewhere may feel motivated to learn more!

I am sure you will be able to notice the resemblances and the differences in due course of time.

1a. Blood is thicker than water.
1b. Blut ist dicker als wasser.

Becomes more interesting when you know that
's' is used instead of 't' (as in besser = better)
and als = than

Here, there is a festival to celebrate everything imaginable - including insects and bugs!
The crowd resembled a carnival but the objects to be admired were insects.
Every joyful person coming out was wearing the antennae of the insects proudly.

The desert scorpions shone brilliant white in the UV Ray.
To keep them alive, they were fed live crickets! (
Poor poor crickets sacrificing their lives to keep these poisonous scorpions alive.

Fruit Flies have the tomato red eyes and metallic shimmering blue and green body.
The wasp extract smelled weird - though most people could not detect its smell.

Some of the butterflies had wings which shone like jewels.
I am sure they are turned into fancy, light weight jewels.

The madagascar cockroaches are made by God only to be petted.
They are very smooth with no wings or thorny antennae of the Indian cockroaches

Children were taking turns to pet them
I got a very original doubt.

Do these insects like to be petted by so many people for so long a period?
Of course they don't. AND they express their displeasure and stress by hissing!

Who would believe that cockroaches can make any sound at all and that too a hissing sound?
The hissing cockroaches are transferred to another box and visitors can hear them hiss
Fresh cockroaches replace the hissing ones - to be petted.

It as fun to read that "Cockroaches are not pests" and "Cockroaches are ancient".
I would have added this too "Cockroaches are indestructible!"

It is not the celebration of the birthdays and wedding days
that get conveniently shifted to the nearest weekend.

The same is true of Indian festivals also.
Deepavali will be celebrated in the Indian communities on November 3rd!

My father, a doctor, used to relates to us valuable info from his personal experience.

One of his professors used to tell his class
"Now gentlemen do not hurry, since we have no time to waste"

Looks and sounds like a controversial statement! Right?

But the professor was also right!

When we act in a great hurry we tend to make mistakes and then we will have to redo the whole thing from the beginning and thereby waste more time - which originally we wanted to save!

Order is Heaven's first law.
Order must be the first law everywhere.

Order used to be the first law of Nature until
man meddled in the middle and shredded it.

The effects of climate changes predicted are scary!
The birth of every child brings forth happiness.

But are we leaving behind us happiness and prosperity to those children?
It is everyone's duty to remember this quote and behave responsibly in the future.

My little granddaughter stands under the shower for too much time.
And she takes her shower just before the supper time.
The rest of the family has to wait until she decides to come out after the shower.

So I taught my little grandson, younger to her, the above proverb.
I was promptly told the she knows only to 'weile' and not to 'eile'! :)

Is the decision to remain Anonymous...

an act of courage or cowardice???
This is the hottest discussion now.

It takes courage to speak the truth.
It takes patriotism to develop the courage.

It is sheer wisdom to remain anonymous...
in a land of trigger-happy and volatile people!

Many people set out to do many wonderful things but

some of them quit midway - when the going gets tougher.
