People advertise seeking dates!!!

Why is it called the dating???

The date they lose their virginity?

The date they might pick up some infection??

The date their innocence is lost?

The date they may get molested /groped /raped???

Old is Gold!!!

Coconut water dubbed excellent sports drink for light exercise

Coconut water is a natural drink that has everything your average sports drink has and much more.

It has five times more potassium than Gatorade and helps you to get rid of the cramps.

It's a healthy drink that replenishes the nutrients that your body has lost during a moderate workout.

The potassium in coconut water also might benefit other people who do not exercise.

What the westerners find out after intense research, our ancestors knew instinctively.

Now canned tender coconut water is the hot favorite here.
Believe me it tastes like nothing I have drunk ever before.

It is pure nectar and drinking a chilled can of coconut water is sheer joy for the people in USA !!!

My little grand daughter feels one up for being a VEGAN!

She feels we vegetarians are one rung below her.

At times she objects to our touching her

after touching the butter milk container! :hand:

Is a new kind of Untouchability in the offing???

The little girl loves her mother.
She loves her new little brother.

BUT She can't stand the sight
of them being happy together!!!

Human emotions are very complicated!
Love and hatred coexist like the light and shadow.

So she can LOVE another person but
all the other persons must love ONLY her???

#097. இருளும், ஒளியும்

இயற்கையில் விந்தைகள் பல உண்டு;
இயற்கையின் விந்தைகளில் ஒன்றாகும்;

விளக்கின் அடியில் இருள் மண்டும்;

பார்ப்பவர் மட்டுமே அறிந்து கொள்வார்;

உள்ளதை உள்ளபடிக் காண வேண்டும்;
நல்லதை எப்போதும் ஏற்க வேண்டும்;

#097. THE LIGHT AND THE DARKNESS.

It is one of Nature’s puzzles that light and darkness always coexist! It is a very common phenomenon we watch everyday.

A lit lamp gives out bright light to the world, but the area under the lamp never gets the light. It is always in darkness.

It is the same when a person reaches a great height by his constant efforts. The whole world will see him and appreciate him but not those who live nearby. It is true that Familiarity breeds contempt.

A person develops hatred towards the one who serves him most – while remaining quietly in the background. A strange concept prevails – that any known person can not be really great!

Parents cherish their children who live far away and visit them occasionally more than those who are with them, taking good care of them. We all know the story of the prodigal son.

We must not belittle persons just because they happen to live near to us. We must learn to see the things and persons in their true greatness and appreciate them.

I had to use logic to convince her that she was wrong.

Her theory was that we eat cows since we drink milk and buttermilk.

I asked her,

"Your little brother drinks mommy's milk.
But is he also eating her???"

It was only then she got convinced that
drinking cow's milk is not the same as eating the cow! :)

"raghupathi raghava!"

My military uncle surprised all of us when he took palm-full of water and took it around his food before starting to eat it.

My father, a busy doctor, was duly impressed by this action...
until my uncle replied in the most casual tone,

"Athimber! I do not remember the correct mantra. Yet I want to chant some mantra! So I just say "Raghupthi rAghava rAjA rAm
patheetha pAvana sita rAm!"

Bonus info...
my dad's name is Raman.
my Uncle's name is Ramachandran! :)
" rAman eththanai rAmanadi???"

Overheard in the pre-school / play school with children of average age 3 + and 4 (-) years.

"I am very disappointed with my parents!"
(does the child really know the meaning of the long word he just used?)

"I don't want to go home"
(isn't every child supposed to be looking forward for the long bell at the end of the school?)

"I didn't make a bad choice!"
(what were the choices? Which one was good and which one bad??)

We never knew such concepts since we inherently obeyed our parents and believed that they would do whatever is best for us.

What is the world coming to???

FINISH!
This was the name of the cake of detergent placed in the dishwasher.
For three consecutive days, the packet was found in tact and unused during the washing!
I learned later that I had to peel off the wrapper before placing it inside the dishwasher.
I was afraid that I had done something wrong
but it turned out that I had not done something right.
Obviously they are not one and the same. Right???

The child-locks used in the bottles, cleaning liquids and medicine dispensers
baffle us Indians as well as the children here!
Everything had a different locking system!
I am sure US has more patents than any other country. :)

Left alone we will feel lost. We do not know how to set the various gadgets, and how to use the smartphone which certainly is smarter than most of us.

The dexterity and expertise with which little kutties operate Ipad
and apple mac leave me spellbound and mesmerized!

My grand kid has his own GPS, digital camera and Ipad.

He has taken possession of the laptop which he ruined by toppling lemonade on it and which was later restored to working order by my son after spending ~ 500$.

I bet it was the costliest lemonade anyone ever drank or spilled!!!

Thinking about the two types of people " those who serve" and \

"those who get served", I discovered a thing or two.

Usually the good looking and / or dumb people get served.

The ordinary looking and brainy people serve.

Should it not be the other way round???

It should be!!! But it is not so!!!

But good looking people manage to use it to their advantage.

If they are also dumb all the more reason

why they should not be entrusted with any important task

So it comes to the brainy people who willingly take up the

challenge of the added tasks and end up serving others for life!

So the dumb / good looking person retain their youth and beauty

much longer - making sure to get served in future also.

The willing slave grows older much faster - and imagines that it is

his / her good fortune to be able to serve the dumb bimbo!

It is a grave mistake to exhibit one's love for the children by overfeeding them or comfort-feeding them.

At some point of time the kids will tend to put on extra weight to to this exhibition of love and seeking comfort in eating.

Thereafter if drastic measures are taken to control the food intake the kids get confused in many ways!

Have the parents stopped loving them ow?
Have they turned miserly suddenly soe some reason?
Have they turned sadistic all of a sudden?
Are they punishing them for some unknown mistake/ crime?

Whatever changes we want to make must be gradual and practical. If we want to cut down on starchy food, then we must replace them by non-starchy low calorie food.

The stomach cannot become smaller overnight and start feeling full on less fuel!

We can encourage the children to eat slowly, chew nicely to get the satisfaction of eating a complete meal even on reduced portions.

Alternately we can encourage them to take up some physical activities to burn off the excess calories.

It does not help to make the kids hungry/angry/ grumpy and sad!

The changes made in portion must be consistent and constant.

It is not wisdom to force the child to live on reduced portion for 6 days of a week and the make him overeat on the seventh day since we are eating a buffet.

It will be comparable to managing with 4 hours of sleep for six days of the week and then sleep the whole day on the seventh day!

More than anything else the parents must set up an example of eating for the need of the body and not for the greed of the taste.

We went for the Ice cream Social in our grandchildren's school.
Music program ws arranged class-wise and instruments-wise and followed by a boisterous band!

During the violin concert I noticed that a little girl sitting on the front row of the musicians was always playing off the key! :(

Later I realized that she was totally deaf since she wore the hearing aids on both ears in addition to its disc-like-extension fixed on the head.

I know how difficult it is to maintain the correct pitch when I can't hear myself singing!

I felt pity for the unfortunate child but felt happy that she had come forward to share the activity with normal children and that the teachers did not object to it!

I am surprised to see that many letters are missing from the words I have typed and posted above.
Having typed I only look out for the redlines - if any.
Maybe I should read my own posts before posting them here!

Adam to Zeus through Gods and Men

Adam had the good fortune that whatever he said and did were REALLY original.

Jupiter or Jove is the King of God of Rome and the god of the Sky and Thunder.

Pluto (Ploutōn) was a name for the ruler of the underworld. Hades was the name of the god and the underworld itself.
