Dear brothers and sisters,
Happy vedic New year.
It is needless to reiterate that the Bharatiya new year is known by different names in different states of Bharath, viz. in North India:Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Himachal as Chaitra Shukla Pratipada (Nav Samvatsar / Vikram Samvat New Year), Punjab as Vaisakhi, Kashmir as Navreh; in West India: Maharashtra as Gudi Padwa, Goa & Konkan as Gudi Padwa, Gujarat as Bestu Varas (day after Diwali); in East India: West Bengal as Poila Boishakh, Assam as Rongali Bihu, Odisha as Maha Vishuba Sankranti (Pana Sankranti); in South India: Tamil Nadu as Puthandu, Kerala as Vishu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana as Ugadi; in Central / Tribal Regions: Chhattisgarh & tribal belts as Chaitra Navratri, etc.
Most of India celebrates New Year in March–April (Chaitra month / solar transition) and Gujarat is unique with New Year after Diwali.
The auspicious start of the Newyear is based on Sauramanam or Chandramanam (Vedic calendar system based on Surya - Sun or Chandra/Lunar-Moon).
The new year names differ, but allover the Bharath, the new year day is celebratedl by every citizen of Bharath, bring a prime and a major festival for the year. The festival has in depth inner spiritual concept of renewal, dharma, and auspicious beginning, which is the backbone of Sanatanadharma Vedic culture for thousands of years.
Bharatiya Sanskriti (culture) is well documented in a number of Bharatiya / regional languages. However, as Vedic scriptures are there in divine Vedic-Sanskrit, let me express below in Sanskrit,the salutations to all with due reverence, briefly explaining the significance & spiritual but practical purposes of this auspicious festival day along with my greetings, my opinions for the day, my resolutions, etc. Cherish Sanskrit and our Bharatiya Sanskriti. प्रिय भक्तजनाः!
सुप्रभातम्।
ॐ श्रीमन् नारायणाय नमः।
श्रीमते रामानन्दाचार्याय नमः।
नववर्षे आरोग्यं, आयुः, समृद्धिः च वर्धताम्। नववर्षं भवतः/भवत्याः सर्वमङ्गलं करोतु! नूतनवर्षस्य हार्दिकाः शुभाशयाः।
अद्य अस्मिन् वैदिक-नववर्षस्य मङ्गलदिने, वयं न केवलं नूतनवर्षस्य आरम्भं कुर्मः, अपि तु नूतनजीवनस्य आरम्भं कर्तुं संकल्पं कुर्मः।
अस्माकं जीवनस्य परमलक्ष्यम् किम्?
न केवलं—
धनम्, मानः, प्रतिष्ठा, प्रमाणपत्राणि वा।
किन्तु—
धर्मानुष्ठानम्, भगवत्प्रीतिः, सत्यं मानवत्वम्।
अद्यकाले बहवः जनाः धर्मं जानन्ति, किन्तु न आचरन्ति।
संस्कृतज्ञानं, शास्त्रज्ञानं, वेदज्ञानम्—
एतानि यदि केवलं पुस्तकेषु वा पत्रेषु तिष्ठन्ति, तर्हि तेषां किं प्रयोजनम्?
तत् ज्ञानम् अस्माकं आचरणे, वचने, स्वभावे च दृश्येत। स्वयमेव प्रकाशेत।
श्रीवैष्णव-दृष्टिः (आळ्वाराणां भावः)-
अन्तः भगवदनुभवः
बहिः आचाररूपेण प्रकाशः
यत् अन्तः, तत् बहिः।
अतः, मम विनयपूर्वकः उपदेशः —
“प्रथमं सत्यः मानवः भवेत्,
ततः भगवतः श्रीकृष्णस्य इच्छानुसारं जीवनं नयेत्। यथार्थमानवतां धारयेत्।”
नम्र-निवेदनम् -
इदं मम अल्पमतं मम च दासभावेन निवेदिताः उपदेशाः। यदि भगवतः सङ्कल्पः स्यात्, सर्वे तदनुसारं कृपया आचरन्तु!
अहं न इच्छामि—
केवलं शब्देषु पण्डितः भवितुम्।
मम संकल्पः—
सत्यः मानवः भवितुम्,
भगवत्सेवायां जीवनं समर्पयितुम्।
विचारय, पुनर्विचारय, ततः आचर।
“मानवता एव माधवता” — इति मम निष्ठा।
“अनुष्ठानं विना ज्ञानं निष्फलम्।”
ॐ तत्सत्।
सर्वं श्रीकृष्णार्पणमस्तु!
श्रीमन् नारायणाय समर्पयामि।
