There is a thread started by Praveen called
'Introduce yourself here'.

members joining post something about them, Mr. KRS responds but host can not be found all the time. There is no dedicated person to welcome these new members.
I see Mr. Brahmanyan and Mr. Nannilam Balasubramanian generally greet and welcome these new members. I want to applaud their work. It is great to be invited in. Thank you.

Dear Prasad,

Is there any need to welcome new members? Some of them give a hi-fi profiles and do not participate in forum at all!

Regards.........

Mrs. RRji,
When I enter a new place, i expect the host or some other designated person to welcome me. It is daunting experience entering a crowded room, where you know no body. I smiling face welcoming you always help.

But your point is well taken, people introduce and never return.
When we established a Hindu Center in my town, we always welcomed a new visitor. We have grown to 4000 now no one cares. But old timers still come and tell us how good it was to be welcomed the first time.

Also the fact, 60% of them post a message to bypass a rule that allows them to send private messages or email.

Alternatively instead of them posting a reply in a single topic, they can open a new topic (currently opening a new topic is not allowed). maybe that way we know who has been responded to or not.

Do the new members want to send e mail / P. M. and NOT participate in the forum??? :suspicious:
A person's face is his fortune. :hat:
Here most people do not want to show their faces. :spy:
So let their posts be their fortune and help them to get welcomed by the others. :typing:

People who don't get the boot, sooner or later, :ballchain:

can safely assume that they are :welcome: here!

Dear Prasad,
Ref: your post # 3. You are talking about real group. But this is a cyber group... :grouphug:

Though the members are expected to give their real and unique identity, quite a few have multi entry!

I still wonder, how they give different addresses and even 'gOthram's. I remember to have entered my 'gOthram',

while registering. FYI, I gave my official date of birth and I am called Raji Ram, in this world!!

Regards........

This is a recurring idea on this forum. Being the dunce that I am, I would like the "thuppariyum Shankarlals" here to spill the beans as to how they pierce through the fake identities.

Regards

Some 'Shankarlals' are able to find out from the style of the posts! But I am not able to.... :noidea:

If Vishnu can take 22 Avatars :bump2:
(of which only ten are projected as the more important ones) :hail:
why not a man / woman assume at least 3 or 4 avatars???

When the son of a great maestro of music entered this forum, the carnatic music lovers welcomed him and expected a lot of

interaction with him. But so far, no post has appeared from that member!!

Would a Welcome mean vouching a pleasant stay for the new comer
or hope for a better stay to the veteran?
Out of fear for raising hopes by a welcome, rather leave it to guest to gauge their mileage from the forum.
After all no one turns out to help them settle when they get pounded.
There are also some veterans breathing themselves down on some of the new comers posts.

I welcomed him personally. It was Maestro GNB's son (right Srimathi RR Ji?). But then we can not force anyone to contribute.

Regards,
KRS
Dear Sir,

You have a very good memory! The cat is out of the bag. :D

Regards..............

I noticed one more newbie, who interacted with all lady members of this forum, probably in search of his 'soul mate'?!

When he asked my age, I told him that it will be his chithi's age!! (clue: he is born in 1971) :D

In a place where even the owner's pleasant stay WAS not guaranteed,

are you not asking too much my dear Mr. O3???
