The time has come for all of us to do our mite through shramadhan. Let us once in a week atleast for an hour either clean our temples or near by place where we live. Let us not throw garbage into our lakes and ponds, especially lakes and rivers near by temples.
This would be the greatest service we can do for our country and our religion.

As we say cleanliness is next to Godliness let us imbibe this in our day to day work! Let us keep our places of stay, work and their surroundings clean!

It is not an easy task though to keep surroundings clean! It has got several stake holders..Role of civic agencies who are involved in garbage removal is paramount in this!

Your thought on keeping temples and temple ponds clean is very valid!!

In Vadapalani there is a famous Sivan temple called Vengeeswarar Kovil whose pond was encroached some 20 years back...I saw the death of the tank with my own eyes..Now it is full of concrete structures..

My heart boils when I see it..Had I been the Collector of Chennai I would have got it demolished...

Some time back Hindu Munnani protested..But I do not hear any more protests..

Have they been subsumed in the garb of modernization and globalization? Is this a right statement...No...

Public apathy is the cause for the downfall of our cultural relics! We do not care!

Do we suffer in silence?

Or may be there is no suffering at all!

We sit back and relax when our culture is attacked & demolished!!
