Sudarshana ashtakam

In the 8th and last part of Cosmic night, great shakti of Vishnu is awakened by his ‘will’ says Ahirbudhnya Samhita. This Shakti, the Lakshmi has 2 parts. Kriya Shakti is the ‘will or wish’ of Vishnu that sustains the ‘Universe & its evolution’. It is inside bhUti shakti which are the matter and beings that evolve. This Kriya shakti, Vishnu’s saMkalpa/will or prekSana/wish causes the darshana of Universe overcoming all impediments. Hence invoked or praised as ‘Lord Sudarshana’.

In Sudarshana ashtakam, we invoke/praise Vishnu’s ‘Will’ that creates, guides all Universe including us, to fight our struggles with enemies, obstacles and diseases.

Vishnu’s ‘will’ manifests as our ‘instincts’ (birth, survival, death) from primordial beings & guides us. It manifests as ‘interactions’ (Higgs, Electromagnetic, Weak) respectively in primordial matter & evolves them.
