Service Tax on Food items

As per service tax rules, the restaurants are to charge 12.36% of 30% of the food bill on the premise that 30% of the bill is for services provided & 70% for the items sold by them. But many restaurants in the city are used to the trick of charging entire food bills by cheating their customers

So when u go out for eating next time watch out. See your bill.
